I suggest we wait for any signs of suspicions, if they are known then go for the electronic specialist.

how much power do we have now? can we take the ship quickly, or will it still take a few moments? how intelligent would an enslaved be? apart from that, yes, lets wait until the navigator is ready or broken.

It seems enough time has passed to subsume them all into a biomechanical hivemind, do so with all except the navigator and a handful of other you deem could be more useful in a uplifted capacity.

[Several hours] pass. Some of the other sophonts discover the navigator and carry it back to their ship. No alerts are sounded. You remember that lesser minds often take a good length of time to process understanding beyond their understanding.

how much power do we have now? can we take the ship quickly, or will it still take a few moments? how intelligent would an enslaved be? apart from that, yes, lets wait until the navigator is ready or broken.
You have enough power to uplift perhaps two or three more sophonts, or to subsume roughly a quarter of them. Without an agent in place, it will still take [four or five seconds] to gain control over the ship, and once it leaves you will not have the energy to reach it, as of yet. Remembering your former... life, you recall that those you enslave are mindless drones, instruments of your will, mere meat-puppets. For the moment, you decide to wait.

It seems enough time has passed to subsume them all into a biomechanical hivemind, do so with all except the navigator and a handful of other you deem could be more useful in a uplifted capacity.
You do not yet have enough power to overtake the entire expedition in a single strike. However, you spot several targets for potential uplift:
-A hatchling which has been identified as the spawn of the ship's captain, who could be used as a tool for assassination or subverting their leader. You vaguely recall that uplifted sophonts' power tends to increase inversely compared to their age when uplifted, something to do with the flexibility of younger minds.
-The chief security officer, one of four sophonts that regularly carries small arms. It could be useful if things come to a forceful takeover.

If the navigator survives, its mental power will support your own, nearly doubling your strength in this weakened condition.

Uplift the hatchling. Subsume a dozen or so of the technicians and have them sabotage the ship from within while you begin a takeover. Use airlocks to prevent sophonts from returning to the ship.

Don't. Not right now anyway Subsuming the technicians now would prove problematic.

How is airlock control going. Would it be possible for us to vacuum the connection between the ship and our prison, thereby preventing the sophonts from rejoining with their ship. Or are they wearing suits, which would be logical.

Uplift the hatchling.

Do only this when the navigator begins to recover.

Do we have sufficient computing power to use this strategy on the entire crew?

We do have power to uplift Both special candidates, correct? Then we must uplift both the Hatchling, AND the Security Chief.

I propose we wait a bit. At least untill the navigator recovers. Otherwise the humans might panic and think there's some kind of disease/virus inside the ship, and hightail out of here before the process completes.

You can seal and open all of the airlocks in the powered areas of the station, including the external ones that the bipeds have been using. They have an airtight connection between their ship and one of those, but it could be retracted if you had access to the ship's flight systems. All of the humanoids you have observed have had suits, though some remove them when working in areas they believe are secure. As long as they are independent and the ship is in close proximity, it would be possible for them to reach the ship even without a pressurized connection.

Do we have sufficient computing power to use this strategy on the entire crew?

You consider this option, and are not entirely certain if you could do so simultaneously for every sophont. It is, however, possible. On the other hand, lower beings tend to train their explorers to react automatically to threats such as yourself; it is probable that the moment you made contact with any of the adults not under your control that they would sound an alarm without giving you the time to make the proposal.

You can indeed uplift both at the same time. However, you decide to exercise prudence; after all, time is on your side.

A flicker of mirrored awareness reaches your consciousness. The navigator has awakened, and the mental bindings have solidified. The subconscious compulsions appear to be holding; it has free will, but will obey direct commands without question. However, it is for the best if it (and any future uplifted individuals) are kept unaware of this.

Through its senses, you observe some sort of small medical facility. Your first follower is sitting up on a bed, holding its hands against its head. It seems likely that there is still some small deal of mental strain which has yet to be worked off.

It questions you, vocalizing, "W-what are you? What did you do to me?"
