So I captured a dwarf?
« on: November 12, 2012, 01:37:02 pm »

Fucking terrifying.

So she just came in right in front of my gate, and sprung my cage trap. Now she's in my animal stock pile.
I know she may be a werebeast, but what do I do with her?

What's she transforms into?

Put her cage into the dining room for exhibition? :D

I have no idea if she's even a werebeast. If she is, then she hasn't transformed yet.

I'm scared.

I think you're safe, even with twig cages. And it'll happen once a month, so wait and see? :D

if it was any other race, i'd say execute it before it managed to hurt someone.  however, it's a dwarf.  weaponize!  make a cage trap outside and pull the lever during invasion, or just lock em up somewhere

Use here to slowly infect all of your military. Then design your military barracks and hospital to lock at every full moon. The end result is a military that will be fully healed of all damage at every full moon, excluding death of course.

It would be brutally difficult and probably won't work. In other words, it's absolutely dwarven!

The first small thing that made me feel awesome was my indoor waterfall. A few minutes later though, it started flooding my fort so I felt less awesome.

How do you know when the dwarven full moon is? The wiki won't tell me :(

Anyways, you'd have to manually lock your military barracks and hospital at every full moon, and god help you if a soldier was hungry, thirsty, or asleep in the wrong bed when the full moon comes... right?

You can see the moon's phase in the top right of the screen.

*laughs his ass off*

Oh wow.  This is why I like this game.  Ludicrous and overly detailed.

A WEREDEER?!  Seriously?  That's the LAST thing I expected to hear!

I had a Wereweasal invade me... It ran at full speed for the entrance when suddenly he turned back in to his normal form. Upon seeing the advancing dwarves, he ran back the way he came and off the map. Haven't seen him since, I've got the screenshot at home.

On the subject of werecreatures, a werellama once stormed a necromancer tower.
if it was any other race, i'd say execute it before it managed to hurt someone.  however, it's a dwarf.  weaponize!  make a cage trap outside and pull the lever during invasion, or just lock em up somewhere
What happens to equipment when that happens? Suddenly dropping all your armor may be pretty dangerous.

IIRC wereism makes you drops everything when you transforms. At least that's what I saw mentioned in a few threads with semi-successful wereism in adventure and fortress.
