Things keep going better and better.
But, it's not all sunshine, my stable is practically completely defenseless in case of ambushes, okay, so it isn't defenseless, but if they attack I can't fight them off until I actually decide to gear my units properly.
Right now Lemon is undergoing a significant technological boost both infantry weapons wise as well as the overall infrastructure and industry, lots of new workshops are built and new things are gradually tested.
We are still in that "in-between" phase where everything is a "work in progress".
Lapse:
The barracks are all kitted out with beds for the sleeping quarters, all except for ours seeing as we don't really need them and we are short on beds.
The soldiers actually use the beds when feeling sleepy, they leave training to sleep in the next room and return to training when they wake up, nice and effective.
Radiance Leafpoet, a farmer gets possessed by unknown forces.
She mutters something about Sweetie Belles, gems and salvage and takes over our Jewelry Workshop.
Slowly and in a zombie like motion she begins to collect all her strange materials before sitting down and painstakingly work on something really tiny, using a whole medium quality salvage pile as her working materials.
We finish constructing our MWT Prism Forge, and it looks incredibly interesting.
This forge appears to be the core of the end game weapons industry, just look at the list of reactions.
So we can now build chainsaw rifles, and power armor if we get ahold of matrixes.
We don't forge anything yet, but the chainsaw rifles may be worth looking into once my primary rifles squad is at a good enough skill to reliably use decent rifles.
More tables are placed in the meeting hall, there have been complaints about it still being under constructions and I've listened to our workforce, explaining that we were still short on chairs I ordered a large amount of tables to be placed in rows and gave the order to construct more tables and chairs.
Our masons are always busy with something it seems.
Our new kitchens are dug out, all food industries are moved downstairs, it's still rough, and the whole area needs smoothing, but at least we got all the necessities.
We only lack a few select specialty workshops to have a complete kitchen, and we
need that completed kitchen.
Kitchens are like radscorpions, you can have a stinger with it's deadly poison or the sharp pincers that cut through pony flesh, but only together do you have a whole radscorpion.
In words that actually make sense this means that I want a full kitchen so I have everything prepared for the end game food industry, which is my favorite kind of industry.
We lack a Bakery, a Millstone and a Quern. Required components are requisitioned and in the meanwhile I tend to other matters.
Radiance finishes her mysterious construction, whatever sinister power possessed her has now left her body, this left her thirsty and craving for sugar.
She created Worshipdash, a gold quartz earring.
On the earring is a tiny image of a cowardly pegasus, the name makes it pretty obvious to figure out who it is.
Normally tarnishing the good image of the ministry mares would net you 10 years in solitary, but seeing as she was possessed by evil spirits we let her off with a warning.
The RobronCo machine shop is prepared, I will keep all the stray robots in one room while the workshop proper is in the other, the main room.
A special stockpile is built which allows only upgrade potions for robots. Robot upgrade potions are banned from the rest of the stable.
All that needs to actually get built and the robots need to me moved, so I move on elsewhere.
Checking our food supplies I notice that our supply of plants is not increasing at the rate I'd like, so I build more farms in the soil layer and plant a variety of crops for added variety.
The stable security squad's barracks is finalized, these ponies will be fully geared in security armor, riot shields and security batons only, but they will train 3 months as opposed to the other squads 2 before taking a month off. They are not much to look at at the moment, they don't even have the gear I want them to have, but in time they will become skilled warriors who balance armor, speed and the blunt force of the mace which P(ony)SI has proven can be quite lethal in combat.
While modifying schedules the schedules of the other squads are also modified so that there is at least one squad training per month so that we always have at least one squad geared up and ready for battle (with the nonexistant gear we dont have, but still, at least 1/3 squads will be carrying weapons in the time of an emergency).
The military training room is also set up, the Virtual Reality sim and Armory are both moved downstairs and special stockpiles are made to increase effectiveness of training sessions down there.
Lycaeon is again assigned to train armor user at the Armory (which proceeds slowly) and our sniper training program is initiated with Motherworship as our first trainee.
His training proceeds well, it's not the fastest increase I've ever seen, but he has already gained one level in marksponyship and is on the good way to level 2 (starting at level 0).
I expect that at that rate the snipers will soon catch up to our rifleponies and be ready to hold their own ground from the walls.
A wastelander caravan arrives, they settle in our brand new trade depot who has already been vomited all over.
If I could collect all the vomit and sell it I wouldn't need prepared egg roasts.
We bring up our weapon bins and prepared food barrels and send Corai to trade.
I told Corai to trade for necessities, extra food, all of their wood and give them what they want.
And what does she do? She goes up to the trade leader, puts a hoof on his shoulder and says that she wants all of it.
The trade leader nods and asks what we were offering. Corai offers them a barbed steel wire, she basically demands all of their goods for a spool of pointy wire.
The leader is on the edge about it, but Corai manages to negotiate for a trade by convincing the trader that this is the only barbed steel wire of it's kind and that it is of a special design that only came in limited quantities before the war, she cuts them a "good deal" by only demanding half off all their goods, the trader falls for her charisma and agrees to the trade, which presumably puts him in a world of shit once he gets back to the shitty scrap pile they call home carrying a spool of steel wire.
An irradiated storm sweeps by engulfing 4 cats and one pony, all of which are too self important to listen to warning sirens and take cover.
The pony and the cats survive unscathed, but the cats all suffer from radiation sickness and leave long trails of vomit.
But not normal vomit, this is cat vomit, and if you own a cat (or have owned one at some point) you know how utterly disgusting it is.
We return to more important duties, we have better shit to do than clean up cat pukes.
So we still needed security batons for our maceponies, we got right on that and ordered 10 iron security batons.
Said and done, our maceponies now have security batons.
Our bone/shell stockpile in the soil layer is getting overstocked with shells.
Since shells are completely useless I built two craftsponyshops to begin processing all the shells into decorations.
Everything needs to have mutant fish shell attached to it.
Corai decides to be a silly filly and demands a single quiver to me made.
To muse her we raise a leather workshop and build a single quiver.
While we were at it we also began building backpacks for our militia.
With the RobronCo machine shop being fully constructed (or at least the first design of it) and all the neccesary components for a rocket turret available I giddily order somepony, anypony, to upgrade a turret to a rocket turret.
One of our two clerics, the mage Cloud Frog, answers the call.
One by one he carries all the components to the shop, once he gets the last component in, a box of rockets, I lock the door and let him get to it.
But as soon as I scroll away I get a job cancellation message saying that no boxes of rockets were available.
I shrug and try again. Nothing. Nothing. Didn't work. Nuhuh.
"No Replica, this isn't a box of rockets it's a box of... um... sprockets. Can't use that as ammo sir. Uh-uh."
I decide to settle for the next best thing and build a minigu- funny, now we no longer have the components to do that, oh well, I guess a flamethrower turret is cool too.
That works out perfectly and Cloud Frog builds a fancy flamethrower turret which we place by our perimeter entrance.
The final thing we do before ending the session is build the Bakery in our kitchen, very nice, now we can do absolutely nothing since we have neither dough materials or oil.
But it will be nice to have later once I have the ingredients.
I only wish we could build swords made of bread. How cool wouldn't it be to send your militia against a giant radscorpion armed with baguettes?
General:
What made the session end?
The flamethrower turret.
You were not joking when you said "be prepared for !!FUN!!", a giant radscorpion felt like it would be a cool idea to waltz into a walled area filled with ponies armed to the teeth and bristling with rifles to say hello.
The flamethrower turret fires at it, does *nothing* and sets the grass inside the perimeter on fire.
Our militia is sent to kill it and while the entire inner courtyard burns down they fight the scorpion in the flames.
When everypony on the surface died of severe third degree burns the scorpion just happily waltzed away.
With this lesson learned I rewinded and moved the turret back downstairs to hang out with his other unupgraded robot friends until I am done with the brahmin pastures and have enough time to pave the inner courtyard with stone.
Otherwise aside from this there is not much to report currently, things progress as usual.
Notable that I am too lazy to explain.
