Actually... It doesn't... My longest fort lasted almost a century... I got really borde with it tho and my average fort ends in 20 years. I play really long games.

How in Armok's blood do you kill us every time then? Does 20 years equate to 20 days in Sprin's mind?

Theres a difference between doing a fort for a year and doing it for nearly a century. the difference is if I watch a podcast while Im working on it.

Also, for reference, I don't use danger rooms, and I always have an army of mostly melee soldiers, with a fuck ton of cage traps littering the map. Sometimes I have traps with 10 saw blades in each in a row of 6 with 3 columns (or vide versa, depending on how my gate is set), but I had a nasty incident where a siege ran into it and they got clogged up, so I don't rely on traps anymore.

I also tend to have an animal army. My best fortress (not my longest) had a huge army of highly trained giant wild boars I sent after an army. I called them the War Bacon. They lost all their fat though when a dragon came and set fire to everything, but they stayed away from the fire being enclosed in a stone building (no idea how that happened).

Boredom occasionally. Also, forgetting that food and drinks are important and deciding to make rock crafts and beds.

Sometime mass flodding when I get to the "build massive luxorys" phase. My Arenas are notorious for thier spike traps and flooding mechanics. If you want I can start a side fortress build it up and show you what one of my playthroughs looks like.

One time I got the king 2 years after starting, that was my greatest achievment.

If you post it here, you should call it the Saga Of Sprins, and everyone in the fort is a dead incarnation of yourself and the females are all Jenny incarnations.

I think it's time I started working on Necrothreat II PDF format. Necrothreat II should be the one with the largest word count to rival a novel I reckon.

We have like 8 side stories and then the story as a whole. I tend to write lengthy as well, which doesn't help
