How to auto-follow a specific dwarf?
« on: November 07, 2012, 10:26:02 am »

Hey, I have a question how to auto-follow a specific dwarf so you don't have to keep tracking him yourself?

Such as goes on in this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=38F9d_prgBc&feature=BFa&list=PLEF0B6BF28CC7C19F

at the 18:18 mark.

I read on the wiki something about hotkeys, but couldn't get it to work. Thanks.

Press v, move your cursor to the dwarf, then press f. This will follow him around until you press one of the normal screen movement keys. Alternately you can navigate to them through the (u)nits menu.

Well if COD players all have ADHD, and Minecrafters autism, then what do DF players all have?

To assign a hotkey to a dwarf, press [v], move the cursor to the dwarf, press [z], and then F1-F8 (with or without shift).

You can assign a hotkey to an item similarly via [k] and Enter.
