Fixed.

There is also the design on Ulysses' duster, which I would kind of like on an actual jacket, now that I think about it.

I'm down with the original. After all, who cares about those 38 latecomer states anyways? :P

Alternately, we could do some merging based on population density -- combine Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico and Montana into Rocky Mountania.

Combine New Hampshire and Vermont into New Vermshire (they'd even have a nice squarish state border)

Combine everything from Minnesota south to Oklahoma into Flyoveria.

Combine the West coast states into Pacifica (not a new idea, btw).

Plop another flag in the spot where the stars are.

@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.

I'd hate to say it but if they change the flag, they may make it one of those gay wavy striped dealies that you see on political posters and painted on buildings to look like it had depth.

With a Mandelbrot fractal flag, we'll never have to change the number of stars again, because we'll have infinite stars!

We might want to save that one for the universal expansion phase, though.

Oh, we should get a slightly smaller flag with one star to fly below the 50-stars one. And then when we get four fifty-star flags, we merge them together into one giant quadruple-sized flag.

Temporarily. Eventually we'd have a bigger flag than any of the other countries, making us better.

Right, eventually the 200 state flag will be followed up by further fifty-state models, until we need an 800 state flag, making us even betterer.

rotational symmetry

I kind of like the idea of a flag that looks like this, but made by someone who's paint skills don't suck.

Heck, I think the whole flag should be circular. If Nepal is cool enough to have a non-rectangular flag, why can't we?

It's difficult to hang a flag without a straight edge from a straight flagpole.

As for the design they'll probably just go to something that looks like this:

We're country bros, so perhaps they'd get a little starry-eyed.
(Star puns are hard.)

I do like the circular arrangement with the giant star in the middle.
