Forsaken, y u no add me?

PCI lost some of it's momentum but it's taking over the target system at least 7% influence per day.

The day we had most people doing stuff, we got 15% influence and probably could have gotten more, so that's pretty cool.

I wanted to have conflicts today already, but it seems it will take a little while longer.

I also found RES 32LY away from Pand, which I'll soon be farming to buy a Vulture so I can murder those Elite Anacondas as fast as possible.

as a reminder www.pci.freeforums.net is our homepage for the bay 12 purple central industries group.

Ive seen u guys around good news si we now have 76% influence and unless theres a bug we should take take a station within a few days maybe 2.

As an alternative while we wait around for the devs to respond to our possible bug report , or for the civil war to fire our traders ahve beguning in and out of pand again and the missions that boost boom status ( which is now critical) and the hope is to fire the economic boom and another expansion to continue that course of action.

The usual mix of exploration data and bounty hunting is active as well.  We could always use a few more hands and with 1.3 there should be a lot more to do as well.

My name there is too secret. CMDR Gabeux :D
I've been doing a few things here and there, still trying to get the faction to grow. I think we're "cooldown-locked" or something, or we ran into background sim bugs.

I just wish I could enjoy trading more, but I just can't. I might do a little more trading to see what's it that bothers me so much.
I've also been on a conflict zone for the first time, and if I had a Vulture I'd just kill so many things :/

No probs. I've been playing way less this week and I might fix my schedules and all that [RL stuff], plus Elite can tire me really quickly..but I keep coming back to it.

What region of space are you flying in? I found that doing combat and trading in wings lessen the boring stuff of the game.
In the next few days, if I get can bring myself to it,  I want to understand a bit more how the Supply/Demand thing works - I'll see if I can get a basic trade run list of the most demanded goods from the station I have as a "home", and then do those runs to see how it affects the demand.

EDDB (or E:D [Trading] Database) helps a lot. I'm really impressed by the effort the player-base put in that tool and on EliteOCR ("Screenshot-Scanning Tool That Updates Market Data on EDDB").

I was about to purchase this game, then I saw it was $60. Obviously, people in the Elite: Dangerous thread will probably think it's good, but is it worth 60 dollars?

Personally, I don't think it is.
The game still feels like a beta, with the 1.3 update right around the corner..so, to be honest, you'd have to be a fan of the genre (space sims, sandbox, space combat, sci-fi, etc) not to get infuriated by the end of your purchase.

I'll say that the combat is the most fun combat I ever had in any space game, and I really like the flight model. The game's also beautiful.
There's an infinite amount of potential to the game, and the developers seem to be willing to develop it.

All in all, that's not enough for 60$. So really..if you're not into the genre, it's not worth it. If you are, then be warned that you're getting paying for a beta that disguises itself as a full release - but I still think it'll pay off on the long run, though.

..I probably didn't help at all :D

Nah, that's exactly what I was worried about. I've seen a lot of praise for the game, but when I dug a little deeper I saw people had a lot of concerns about the emptiness/repetitiveness of the world/gameplay despite still being kind of awesome. So you did help! I think I'll wait for some more development before purchasing.

What I don't like the most about the game is the forced linear progression in ships. The more expensive ship, in general, can do everything better, with limited compromises, than the one before it. There are not enough 'sidegrades' and specialised ships. I am flying an Asp now that I plan to keep as one of my end game ships (the others being the Python and perhaps a combat ship). because Asp is the ship with the highest possible jump range (34LY), perfect for exploration.

I guess the devs have not reached the stage at which there are enough variety of ships in the game. But at each major patch release, they do add new ships. I am looking forward to the Imperial Courier!

I am huge sim and space genre fan myself.
I've dug whole lot around this game and was convinced that it is not for me.
Gets too repetitive in long run. My opinion so no need to tell me otherwise :)
60$ for pretty graphics just don't cut on my taste of play.
I will wait few years for Star Citizen and see if that offers anything new and fun.

Agreed. On top of that, does anyone else feel suicidal with the hyperjumps that drops you facing the sun, and the supercruise in general?
E:D for me is a very casual thing. But I refuse play it as an MMO and grind for hours for a bigger ship without having any fun.
That's why I do 98% combat. That's why I'm still saving for a Vulture.  ::)

Joining a group of player gave me the motivation to pop in and help the group's goals. But only time will tell.

That actually helped alot! I was pretty much a click away from buying it, but then I read into it a bit more and it seemed as though there was so little to do in total. it seems like they've managed to realllllly polish the bits that they've got in, but not added much depth.

The 1.3 update sounds interesting, so I may wait for that + lowering of price.

With enough work and polish, it could have been a forgettable flash game on Kongregate.

Honestly it may be worth giving them 6 months to a year and then looking again. The game is fun but I don't know that its worth the price.
