How do YOU imagine Armok?
« on: November 05, 2012, 11:13:33 am »

While I understand that he may be like our God - invisible to anyone etc. and may change form should he actually become visible, but hey - if you were to see the God of Blood, how do you think he would look like?

I imagine his description to be like Planepacked, only with body parts instead of limestone engravings.

I imagine him as a drunk, insane, unforgiving, yet really wise old man, floating abstractly above the world, being able to do anything he wants to do in the world, much more powerful than even other gods. I always imagine him as not interacting much with the world, though.

By that logic, you shouldn't be able to play dwarves because they don't show thinking ability.

I am not a believer in the literal manifestation of Armok within the game. A faceless, unsymbolled concept for players.

I imagine him as a giant, red humanoid figure, just standing, watching his world..

When I have visions of Armok, there's something about his arm. It looks.. Just right. Dunno why.

You clearly have a grasp of inventory purposes.

As to myself, I can't get beyond this:

That's Armok on the left.

I imagine Armok as the forum poster that he is. (image related)
I imagine his description to be like Planepacked, only with body parts instead of limestone engravings.
Speaking of which, he's the only other one that has actually made an attempt at rendering Planepacked, and the model looks pretty cool, for what it's worth.

I imagine a great bearded man with red skin wearing a loincloth, pounding the raw stuff of creation with a hammer upon his anvil.

The name of the Dwarven God comes from the variable "arm_ok", which is from Tarn Adams's fantasy game, Dragslay (an early precursor of Dwarf Fortress). The variable was used to count the number of arms left, for inventory purposes. (Source)

I imagine 'Him'/'Her' to be armless, forever counting other peoples arms out of envy.

You could always go with the akinator version of armok:
