"Super" difficulty throws in the changes to combat and duel mechanics and so forth.

Since you have that difficulty, you probably have a version with the PUK. You could use the character editor which lets you edit skills without any limitations.

The child naming screen doesn't accept English characters, so it won't let you get past it without changing your keyboard settings. Alternatively, the Sangokushi X PKloader (Direct Link!) allows you to enter names normally.

Right, thanks for the help! I tried entering Japanese characters via alt code, but it did not seem to accept what I wrote, I will try the PKloader.

After some thinking, I ended up setting up the PS2 Emulation for this instead of using the PC version....  seems to all work.  It means everyone's skills are changed yet again.

Start of the Yellow Turban rebellion. I was going to say to go our own Kingdom in the South-west because Elephants. Besides if we start North-east we'd have to deal with Gongsun Zan almost immediately who will undoubtedly have a large army ready to attack, whereas South-west will be generally unopposed for ~15-20 years or so.

I noted you lack a real warrior in your game, so I cooked up one.  Stats says it all, big loudmouth who likes to fight, many think him a big stupid oaf, but he can be surprisingly smart when it comes to war. Maybe he can be the brawly littlebrother to the other Zen. Adjust age accordingly.

I agree with year 189. 

While I like the Yellow Turban era, it lacks the diversity of opponents and it is too easy to just run and grab all that vacant land.  I also don't like how Liu Bei's force usually is destroyed shortly after starting (their force is a band that usually beelines for a Yellow Turban city, and usually is destroyed trying to take it).

Also, I'd suggest making yourself the ruler and slightly older than the rest of us.  I'd also suggest making me and Zen Lao have differing birth years.

Oh, I think we should have a look at the south-west, there is some interesting units down there.

Can we start as a rowing band of mercenaries? Taking over cities as we go and abandoning them once we have all their money and our units upgraded and refiled with new recruits?

But having a kingdom up north east sounds great too. It got some nice defensive bottlenecks in the beginning, and once we get larger there is a huge river that works as a natural border.

I don't really care about making age differences, other then by generation or if you guys choose a specific year for yourselves.  Every created character lives till 99, unless I set it different.  And, my preferred playstyle is free/officer/governor/prefect.  I could play any of the other rotk games if I wanted to be the ruler...

As for the North-East...  white cities have no kingdom in it, so my options are very limited in year 189.  It'll either be Central Northeast  or Central East(Which is the traditional Wu/Navy territory.)

Actually, you can form a band same as a force in the PS2 version (so ruler and 9 followers start out in the band), but it might require you to form a band on top of an existing force in order to work.  But if you don't want to be in the band, it's just a recipe for disaster.

Ah, so you'll start out free.  That leaves the rather awkward question of: "Who is going to rule our merry force?"

North-East is heavily populated in all eras except the Three Kingdoms eras.  We can set up in the Southwest for Elephant Fun and mystic ronin (the free officers in that area have weather powers).

From the looks of it, Central NE area of the Year 189.  Unless a number of folks change their minds.


Historical Events: Y/N?

Basically, it determines if the current monster kingdom of Dong Zhuo gets broken up or not.  He will be a very dangerous and immediate enemy to the Zen Clan.  But, from his demise spawns another dangerous enemy if left unchecked.  So it can still be bad either way.
The first ruler of the Zen Clan will be the Matron... though... she does not have long to live.
