Good news, Cause for celebration, and a tough question.
« on: November 04, 2012, 05:35:13 pm »

Okay, so good news first. A few months back I had posted about a friend of mine who got in a terrible car wreck. Well, she has made a full recovery! Beyond not remembering a few things, she's completely back to normal.

Cause for celebration in that My football team and my One Act Play team are both going to state! Yeeeeeah! I got back from the region championship and slept for twelve fucking hours, it was crazy.

Tough question, in that I'm going through the standard LA question, but I'm at a different stage. I've become really good friends with this girl, and we've both started talking a lot and trusting each other. The problem here is that i'm not sure whether or not I should keep her as a friend or ask her out. Ideas?

Whatever you think is best. no one here has enough information to make an informed decision, and even then we still wouldn't be able to make as good of a decision as you could.

If you want her as more than a friend, ask her out. If she doesn't reciprocate, then it's pretty easy to remain friends.

Ultimately decide what YOU want, and go for it. It's just that, if you get rejected, take it maturely and you can remain friends. Don't be one of those guys who wait so long they get a massive crush and then are broken hearted once rejected.

Believe me, this is good advice.

Just ask her already. If you have any doubts, remember this post as your mental image of me holding a giant neon sign of this post.

Ask her. If you don't, step two is the handstand test, and we all know where that leads.

And one thought that worked for me in this situation: You're not asking her hand for marriage or anything. See it as a fun experiment wether there could be more between you two or not.

Find a streetlight, step out of the shade, and say something like "You and me babe, how about it?"

Your question almost sounds like you don't actually want to ask her out but feel like you have to because that's what happens when a guy and a girl are close friends. If this is the case, I really need to get my hands on the memo people are getting this info from because my 50/50 gender split friends apparently have some learning to do.

Or the typical "I like her but don't want to ruin the friendship" deal. But I like to think creatively.

If you like each other, then ask her out. If you ever break up though, it will be really hard to keep her as a friend. Just because a guy and girl are friends, doesn't mean they have to date.

btw, is it american football or soccer-football?

Depends how far the relationship went. If after one date you both are like "naw" then it's not hard to remain friends. A fling that lasts months and ends badly though...

This is pretty much the best advice one could get on the situation.

There were two other parts to the thread, but whatevs, I guess.

Find a streetlight, step out of the shade, and say something like "You and me babe, how about it?"

Yes.

Just ask her already. If you have any doubts, remember this post as your mental image of me holding a giant neon sign of this post.

Also yes. Thanks for the advice bro/rival.

btw, is it american football or soccer-football?

American football. It is so fucking tiring.

Aaaaaaand one act was even worse. We got second at state, so wooo, but I didn't get home until midnight last night. I was so tired this morning, I almost fell asleep walking to the shower. I'm gonna play a spot of Terraria, and then fucking sleeeep.
