So, this is my first attempt at a suggestion game, so, let's get the ball rolling.

This can be a steampunk or low/high fantasy, you guys decide.

You walk into the small city. Random hustle and bustle is all over.
You see a pawnbroker, a blacksmith, a bowyer, a leatherworker, and a tavern.

Where should you go first?

(I don't really care where we go with this, within reason. This is a game for you guys, but i'm not throwing spaceships or aliens.)

You head to the pawnbroker and see nothing of interest, you go to a clothier and buy an utterly sexy silk overcoat, with some nice tights to go with them.

You step outside and a flying machine flys overhead.

Very well:

You head to the blacksmith and buy a shiny new pair of iron gauntlets.
-25 gold coins
You proceed down to the tavern and track down a drunk.
"Hark, ye repugnant intoxicant, I challenge you to a game of fisticuffs!"
He accepts and you proceed to fight. I'll let the dice govern this.
The drunk swings at your head, [5].
You are dazed by the blow, and a nasty bruise is left!
You throw a left hook! [2] - 1 (Dazed) + 1 (Iron Gauntlets)
The attack bounces off his arm fat!
He kicks you in the shin! [6] - 2 (☼Black Leather Boots)
The attack leaves a bruise, it hurts to stand on the leg a bit.
You throw a right uppercut at the brute! [6] + 1 (Iron Gauntlets) - 1 (Dazed)
You break his jaw. He drops to his knees in pain!
(Stunned)
You are no longer Dazed.
You throw a left jab at the drunk! [4] + 1 (Iron Gauntlets) + 2 (Stunned)
You knock him out cold!

You take 50 gold coins off the idiot, and grab his mug of ale off the table!

You stand over him in the tavern.

Tip the barkeep and claim that the repugnant intoxicant made improper advances on your underaged sister and therefore had it coming.

Then leave and procure a regional map. Return to the pawnbroker and ask what sells easily, and where it can be located. We're going to make some money ferrying goods around.

You throw the barkeep some coin and explain that tubby there had made unwanted advances on your sister.

You head back to the pawnbroker and ask what he sells the most, and where these can be acquired.
He hands you a note:
"Snail Oil - 10 gold per vial - found in Geardunk Swamp
Hunks of scrap metal - 5 gold per pound - Found around shipwrecks, and generally everywhere
Carnivorous Vines - 50 Gold per living specimen, 0 for dead ones. - Found in Geardunk Swamp
Any jewelry - price to be determined by jewelry - Found in various places, like shipwrecks, houses, etc."

You acquire a map of the region from a guard.

We're a fine, upstanding gentleman, and lurking about swamps seems like a dreadfully messy affair. Head to the tavern and seek out ladies in need of gentlemanly companionship. Ladies needlessly burdened with heavy jewelry that we might relieve them of.

Wouldn't say we are an upstanding gentleman yet,we just look like one,let us and something tells me any of the most "upstanding" ladies we find in the tavern would have some type of facial hair.
Let us persuade some men to join us on an adventure to the swamp for pay, we shall be the travelling adventurous gentleman with the heads of abominations,carnivorous vines, and an exquisite collection of snails
