The former decree of training near full time didn't last long. The dwarves started to grumble and say that's not the reason they came to the fort. Or something like that, I was a bit distracted at the time. Mestthos and Monom are still training others, but now it's all about the volunteers. And... well... there was only one current volunteer. Sloth the axe dwarf is training.
He also said somethign about wanting an ax, but I'm not going to accomodate that just yet. We don't have anyone who is able to teach him anything about axes quite yet. Perhaps later.
Current fort value is sitting at 7179224, and I expect to rise shortly. The diplomat form the mountainhomes requested that we make them prepared meals for next year, and we got a LOT of those of very high quality to trade. I didn't know they had such a food shortage.
I've also looked at the plans for the cat-population problem. True, I can't just kill them. That would be unethical - I'd have 7 dwarves coming down my throat for that. But what I can do is say that they must all be kept in a small area, and cat's don't approve of that. Well, I moved that small area from the front of our fort to the top of Uthric's house. I've added a door, so that
when the cats fall, they are to be brought back up immediately.

We've Already had several unfortunate cat deaths. A shame really.
Other fort duties are a bit predictable. I've ordered 30 robes and trousers made, 20 mechanisms, and several glass pots (and to collect the sand for them of course). Flamestrider also has said that he needs some new arrangements now that we are a county, and I promptly told him to make them himself. He agreed, and did.
Speaking of which, at some point I really should give us a date. Perhaps we'll hang out in his room since it's the nicest place in the fort.
