Whats Zol's swordsman husband up to these days?
Full time training, Ilral Climaxspears a sexy superdwarf now. There was some excitement recently that involved the military (and my own "ah, it won't be a big problem" thinking), so maybe I'll put that into zol's journal. Thanks, I often forget about the spouses and such.

Disaster near the magma forges. I did vaguely know about magma crabs, but I never considered that they populated this deep of a magma sea. Before I even realized it, there was one dwarf dead and another injured. The military was sent out immediately to slaughter it, and they succeeded at about level -125 126. For reference, the magma forges are at -150 -151. It came up quite a long way, spitting molten rock and the dwarves.
From my records, the dead dwarf is the wife of the doctor Asmel 'Doktor' Armorwalk. I'll get to preparing a memorial and coffin immediately.
Perhaps I'll even decorate the plaque. And where to put it? I am debating between the hospital and the spare room on the mayor's level. Perhaps the spare room will be a better fit for now. and I hope the doctor is still able to perform his duties and save the mayor, we really don't want to lose PrivateAlpha.

I was just checking on the stockpiles (I need to update our stocks of adamantine now that we have so much), and I see a magma crab shooting at the staircase! Twice a spinning blob of basalt hit me, once in the upper body and once in the leg. i ran up the stairs as fast as I could, screaming about the crab, and luckily the military got there before anyone else was killed. I had to run past the mayor, but I'm sure they made it out alright with how fast the military was sprinting.

I heard there was a bit of excitement down below now. It was something about a magma crab. I'm going down there to see right now actually, since I'm helping to build that lead floor the mayor had in mind. Mrwillsauce is still just making jugs all the time. Oh, he made a few glass pump componants too, so that might be interesting.

This day we mourn the loss of a friend of mine - Alath Fondledtools. She lost her upper body to a magma crab attack. I am going down to seal up all the free magma we have, and then I'll be busy making her coffin and slab. I hope her soul is put to rest quickly. This will be an interesting challenge.

There was some excitement down below I hear, and someone died. I didn't really know them though. Alos the mayor got hurt, but I'm not really that attached to them either. I guess I hope everything works out.

I've been busy extracting adamantine strands from the rocks tehy're pulling up from below. Someone said that the mayor's been injured too, and someone else died (I don't know who yet). What I do know is that this adamantine isn't going to extract itself though, so I won't probably find out until I take a break.
On a happier note, my eldest daughter Reg Tombportal has certainly surpassed my leatherworking ability. A while ago she got into some mood and toko over my leatherworkers workshop. The result was one of the best harps I've ever seen, and we call it Oceancries. It's made of cat leather as a base material, and contains decorations of green tourmalines, bronze, cat leather, dog bone, water buffalo leather, and gabbro. she even somehow made an image of a cushion cabochon, but did it in water buffalo bone. I'm very proud. Perhaps they'll let her make our leather objects from now on - shoes and such. Amariithynar says it's worth 37200 dwarf bucks.

So here I was just making a roast of spotted ratsfish (with lots of minced goose egg stirred in), when I hear something about a magma crab. Then I see my husband and the rest of the military flying down in his sexy their steel plate armor and then shortly thereafter they come back up.
When I talked to him later, it seems that there was a magma crab that escaped the forges below, and it killed the wife of the doctor before they got to it. The mayor is injured as well, but none others. The battle as short and sweet, with a magma crab futily spitting magma at a bunch of sheilds and walls while he and the others diced it up nicely. The magma crab is no more, needless to say.

The adamantine shaving is going nicely, and we have quite a bit of it to spare right now as it's harvested from the raw stone. I kind've wonder what they're going to make out of it, but reallyit's not a top priortity to know. why? because no it's time to eat.

I was down below when a magma crab came from the forges. Unfortunately it took a dwarf almost immediately - the wife of the doctor. It spat at me next, and now I'm suffering from both of my legs being fractured, and my left hand suffering the same fate. Luckily I can still write with my right hand.
The doctor is working on me now, an says he'll need to sutured, dressed, and immobilized. well this will be fun.

Blastred magma crab! it took my wife. It also wounded the mayor, so I'm currently trying to fix him up. They keep the hospital so under-supplied though. Sure, LOTS of cloth and thread, but no table, traction bench, well, or soap. I have only one bucket and 3 easch of splints and crutches. I can manage, but gosh its bare.
On the bright side I did have a wonderful bath in a wonderful well recently, and my life is still pretty awesome here. Its great to keep in all in perspective, right?

Istrath Renownedstance has spoken. She killed Alath Fondledtools, and nearly took our mayor PrivateAlpha. then my husband Ushrir aided in the magma crabs death. No one knows who landed the killing blow, but at this point it does not matter.
While everyone else merrily runs around gathering the metal of the gods, I do my duty and take the corpse up to a stockpile. It's the first one, and I assume that we will soon have far more.
