(Ramsey balances out at "happy" because even though he just witnessed a child get cruelly murdered he gets to work with giant poisionous mite flesh! Yay Dwarves!)

Journal
Another forgotten beast slain and butchered! I just hope that some titans, maybe a dragon come. Those are high-quality meat! And with Neo and his sword, they would also be easily slain!

(I wonder how fast the fight would go if Neo fought Derm the Soulchopper.... I estimate a few seconds, then Neo would be exploded all over the fortress.)

This is a dwarf. It is decorated with dwarfiness and menaces with spikes of Brit. Engraved on the dwarf is an image of a dwarf digging a hole. This relates to the digging of a hole by Honeydew the dwarf in 2011.

I was the deceased vessel through which dark magick was done and Necrothreat III was created from the ruins of my old forum posts: http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=118805.0

I can only hope to eventually be as epic as Derm.

I didn´t expect you updating so fast. As I rarely can be at my PC it took some time to catch up. Nontheless, I´ll try to cover all updates in my journal. If someone thinks that shit´s to old to mention let me know and I´ll change next time.

The phenomenal and absolutly epic life of Saegge, the perfect normal miner [Excerpt III]

[...]When two hordes of pointy-eared humans arrived Reaver decided to elect a mayor. The engravers spread the word everywhere. All walls were filled with slogans of some mad dwarves wanting to be mayor but the result seemed clear all the time. Nodwarf trusted Reaver so it was no question that he must be chosen for president. Thats´s fucking democracy. "Hey Saegge!" he came to me when the election were over. "You dig me dining hall! NOW!" "you mean a neat lunch room?" "No, it´s d i n i n g   H A L L" I took my pick and used the next two weeks to create his space. After that I was quite hungry and nearly sober. I never felt that bad in my life before.

[...]

I wanted to fill my stockings, but when I reached fishy´s house I noticed there were to many Dwarves and one just relaxing on the ground. The others stood around him. I thought he was a damn lazy bastard ruining my fish supplies. I left to return later that day.

[...]

Then again I heard shouting from Card´s work place but this time one was able to stand the voice. Card seemed to had a singing lesson. As we had enough miners that time and I wasn´t on duty but chilling in dining hall (not Reaver´s sadly) I didn´t investigate further.

[...]

In Autumn - as Reaver told me, cause you can´t find by yourself at a glacier - some crazy shit began. Everywhere strange creatures running around. First some stupid merchants arrived. Although someone slaughtered their last caravan. Then there was a ton of babies crying all around. It was that damn noisy. Also I saw some dwarf taking a walk with his pet Yeti. And last there was a mad looking dwarf trying to stab me. I just drove my pick in his fucking spine and then ran as fast as I could. Later, I was told, he survived my blow and some recruit earned the credits for my bravery. And when I went to gather fish that time I saw quite disturbing notes at Fishy´s door. I didn´t know how to interpret a "here bangy, bangy! Fishy, fishy" but today I hate to know the real meaning. It´s a mad world we´re living in...

[...]

One day Fishy told me of her band "Fishy and the smiths" I loved the name but when I heard Card would be lead singer, I excused myself I got away quickly

[...]

My doom was sealed as Reaver ordered my mining squad to search for adamantine. I told: "You know demons and dragons and devils and gorgons and the wall of flesh and killer rabbits and stuff creeping deep underground!?" "Yep" "You want me diing?" "Nope, just needing adamantine. "But I wo..." "I´ll buy you ticket for nxt circus in town y´know?" "but" "thought y´love clown" As I love clowns I left to dig down but I had a really bad feeling about this. Few days later I found adamantine and Reaver praised me like mad. Nontheless, we had to dig into the vein...

[...]

When I took a rest I met Brewster. We had a neat talk and I thought we could something started. As I admirrored her (his? who wears the skirt in our relationship?) beauty suddenly something hit me on my head. As I turn around I saw chalkdust falling to the ground and Reaver with an angry look. "You!" he said. "At ye service." "Dig me vault! I want safety if somethn nasty happens!" "You mean you´ll lock up alone if things go wrong?" "shut up dig!" "May I Brewster take with me to circus, when I finished?" "If you dig then." So I began to dig hi bunker.

Malachite 22, 129
Migrants have arrived at Boltaura. Another ten citizens have decided to leave their homes in search of a new life here. I don’t know what they were expecting but I’ve assigned them all hauling duties. I’ve also given them an advanced warning: If they don’t stay busy they will be conscripted. Laziness is not tolerated here in Boltaura.

Galena 12, 129
Another human caravan has arrived today. I’ve ordered goods to the depot. This time I must make sure that our friends are able to leave instead of being slain by raiders. If they don’t leave their leaders will surely think that we killed the merchants ourselves. We cannot afford a war with the humans; we don’t have the manpower or the equipment to resist their sieges.

The Bugbears have returned. It has been many months since we have seen their kind at our fortress. The last time they showed their faces they were slain by our brave soldiers. The army they have sent is larger than it has ever been before. To make matters worse it is led personally by their Hobgoblin general; Idare Eminoapufi. If we slay him it would surely be a blow the Bugbears cannot recover from. I’ve ordered everyone inside and the militia to the gates. We will show them once again that Boltaura will not fall to their kind.

The enemy continues to charge the depot. Seeing as we have far fewer numbers than they I’ve ordered all soldiers into defensive positions in the barrack halls. We will wait for them to come to us. We cannot afford soldiers running headfirst into a squad of their soldiers

Galena 23, 129
I have grave news today. Both Neo and Kale have fallen in battle. Our soldiers are fighting a losing war. We have lost over thirty dwarves. The sheer size of the Bugbears and their number have outmatched our dwarven steel. I had no choice but to conscript citizens and order them to hold the entrance. They need to reinforce what soldiers are left fighting. I’ve placed Card in charge of the militia and Saegge as his second in command. Their skill with the hammer and pick will give them an advantage over a random citizen. I fear I may have to use the bunker sooner than expected.

Limestone 1, 129
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
We did it. We have managed to drive the bugbears off but at a great cost. Over sixty dwarves have fallen in the battle. Only eighty of us remain now. Among the fallen lay Neo, Kale, and Card. Neo and a few dwarves broke through the line of macemen to cut off their reinforcements but they were eventually overwhelmed by the advancing Bugbears. Kale fell while leading the militia in an effort to hold the defensive line and prevent the Bugbears from entering the fortress. Card did not enter the battle until after our defensive line was broken.  He fell while leading a heroic charge into the ranks of the Bugbears. His forces continued to push back the wall of enemies and take back the entrance ultimately routing their remaining troops.

Limestone 13, 129
Riots are in full effect in the fortress. Citizens everywhere are throwing tantrums, being stricken by melancholy and even going insane. I fear the number of the dead may increase with all of the fighting between citizens. Even with all of my efforts it is almost impossible to maintain order in the fortress. I fear while the Bugbears may not have been our end they might very well have started it.

OOC: I've been updating a lot because I've been playing a lot. I'd rather update as it happens than to backlog it for later.

There's no shame in dying in battle.
Kale, Neo, and Card will be missed. As for the others... Meh

I suggest you get in the bunker... Now.

Why?  They bugs are gone.

Again, the name Bugbears sounds like they should be a lot more adorable than they actually are.

Yeah, but then don't you just have all the angry people in one cramped space?

I meant have Reaver go into the bunker, by himself.

Fine by me. I just finished updating the dwarf list. I've also grabbed Neo, Kale, and Card's info from legends. I don't know why but the game always reverted Kale back to his default name.

fast updates are cool but they are exhausting if you can´t follow every day. I couldn´t get in here the last week and won´t the next two. Nontheless, it´s a very cool story you´re telling. Sad it could end every moment now.

The phenomenal and absolutely epic life of Saegge, the perfect normal miner Excerpt IV

[...]

That one day Reaver ordered me out of the mines. As I reached the main level everyone was panicking. Reaver ran to me with a pick in his hands. "Take this if you haven´t your own with you. Go to Card over there and kill as much foes as possible!" "But that´s Kale´s and Neo´s j..." "Both dead. Now go as I gather more fighter!" I ran to Card. A few other dwarves came, too. Then we charged at the Bugbears. They were quite to many to count and we all knew we wouldn´t make it. We fell into a berserking mood and crippled everything in range. The pick was driven into flesh and bones. One after another fell. Card used his hammer to scatter brains all over the place. An other dwarf left to me just stepped everything with his dagger. The bugbears seemed surprised as they didn´t fight back and we could slice through them like through ☼dwarven bread☼. We killed the half of their group when the first dwarf died but I was to rampage-ish to care about. We killed one after another, one after another. But then I heard this ugly voice again. This voice I heard only once but that I learned to fear that much. I knew it was over and went mad. The last thing I noticed was how terrified the bugbears flinched from the scream and then everything turned red. Red with blood. Blood flying through the air. Covering everything in blood. Blood flying through an air that was heated up by action. Air to hot to breathe. And everything died. When the spirit of death was served I stood with my knees in insistines and couldn´t move of exhaustion. I fell over, not quite sure if still alive when Reaver picked me up and carried me back in the fortress. When I recovered the siege was over but something more dangerously just started. As we lost nearly half our population everyone seemed to go stark raving mad...

[...]
