Sandstone 19, 128I’ve ordered all available citizens to extract the raw Adamantine into its useable threads. Afterwards I will have Fishy and her smiths refine it into wafers which they can then use to craft armor of unparalleled strength. With how light the armor is it should no longer slow down our soldiers.
Sandstone 23, 128The child that previously took over Cogs’s workshop has finally died of dehydration. Oddly enough he died while sitting in the drink stockpile. I’ve been told Cogs was spotted pointing and laughing at the child’s lifeless body lying on the floor. I’ve also instructed the animal trainer to attempt to train the cave ogre we had captured before. If he can successfully train it we may be able to use it as some sort of guard beast. I’ve ordered a squad of the militia to the kennels as well. I can’t afford to have that beast escape into the dining hall and kill everyone.
Sandstone 25, 128The bunker has been completed. I will now begin to store away food in case of an emergency. A few citizens have been spreading the rumor that I plan to escape into the bunker by myself and seal everyone else out. How dare they! I only planned to shut the door after I entered. If no one else made it in before me it would be their own fault. In other bizarre news a brewer has been found dead on the walls of the entrance. How he managed to get up there is beyond me. There are no paths that would allow him to get on top naturally. Maybe the ghosts are back at work.
Timber 1, 128A wave of migrants has been spotted. Ten of them have arrived this fall. We are back up to one hundred and twenty five citizens. I will have them ordered to work on extracting the Adamantine. It is crucial that we use this resource quickly. The dwarven caravan should be here soon as well. Hopefully they will bring the goods I requested this year. I also look forward to our settlement being promoted to a barony. Increasing our rank should increase our attractiveness to migrants.
Timber 9, 128The recruit who had lost the will to live months ago after the siege has been found dead in the dining hall. It seems she had starved herself to death. Why she chose the long drawn out process of starving instead of jumping from a cliff in the caverns is beyond me.
Timber 11, 128Today Card barged into my office demanding I launch an investigation into who dumped Bugbear blood all over his workshop. I told him I would alert the captain of the guard and that it would be looked into. He’s also demanding permission to hammer the culprit when found. If only he knew the culprit wouldn’t ever be found MWAHAHAHA.
Timber 12, 128Why is no one feeding the injured soldiers? That’s the third one we’ve lost to dehydration or starvation in the hospital. I’m going to start locking people away for this pretty soon. Let’s see how they like being ignored while they die slowly.
Timber 15, 128Oh joy. Another mood. I wonder what useless item we’re going to get this time. He has taken one of the forges. This is not good as we need both of them operational to continue producing armor. At least there is the prospect that the crazed dwarf might make some sort of weapon.
Timber 17, 128The Vamari have arrived again. I wonder if they will sit in our depot for months without leaving like their last caravan. At least we can take their goods as rent for staying here if they do. I’ve ordered the citizens to drag out goods so that we may trade with the fox people.
Timber 18, 128The Vamari caravan was ambushed by a group of Chaos Dwarf bowmen. Luckily they were short work for the caravan’s guards. As we began to clean up from the battle the Dwarven caravan was spotted. I’ve ordered more goods to the depot and I await the liaison so that we might discuss our current situation. I’ll have order Card to craft a statue glorifying me and commemorating my rise to Baron.
