Galena 27, 128I’ve ordered the miners to begin digging straight down. I told the others of the search for the precious metal. Saegge looked at me as if I had lost my mind, Fishy seemed intent on crafting with the revered metal, and Neo; Neo just sat there drooling and unresponsive. I can only imagine the thoughts going through his head at the prospect of an Adamantine sword or several of them. I’ve also promoted Neo to the position of Militia commander. After Vinzenz’s passing he will need a suitable replacement.
Limestone 4, 128One of the recruits recovering in the hospital has been stricken with melancholy and has lost the will to live. It seems she her husband and a friend lay among the dead from the last battle.
Limestone 11, 128The miners have found a large cavern further underground. I’ve ordered them to dig an entrance and the militia to scout it. I can only wonder what type of beasts live this far below the surface. At least they should be valuable.
Limestone 14, 128WE HAVE FOUND IT! ARMOK BE PRAISED! I’ve ordered the miners to excavate the vein immediately. From this we will forge the finest armor and weaponry for our soldiers.
Limestone 17, 128Two more dwarves have been killed. A giant ant killed a hauler and knocked a farmer into the lake where he proceeded to drown before making it out. Afterwards Neo made quick work of the ant. It would also seem that a blind cave ogre has wandered into our traps. I do not know what the beast could be useful for but I will figure something out.
Limestone 20, 128Another blind cave ogre has been spotted. It attacked Saegge but luckily he managed to slay the beast by himself. They might be giant beasts but they are not much of a threat due to their blindness. The mining of the Adamantine continues. Several dwarves have barged into my office demanding me to halt the mining operations. They’ve all used the old stories of the demons that would rise from the Adamantine to strike down any who would mine to much of the metal. I am familiar with these stories and I will stop when we have enough.
Sandstone 11, 128I have drawn up plans for the miners to dig a bunker hidden behind my bedroom. Inside I will have food, drink and armaments stashed. I will fall back to this bunker in should there be a scenario where we have no chance to survive. I will then hide away until the threat has dissipated or until migrants show up and we can rebuild the fortress. I will tell the miners that it will be used for everyone but secretly I plan to seal the entrance as soon as I am inside. I cannot risk a hostile entity chasing in after me. I must survive and continue to run Boltaura at all costs.
Sandstone 12, 128On my way to deliver the plans to Saegge I was greeted by a most disgusting sight. Saegge and Brewster were strolling through the halls holding hands and making out. Saegge would not pay attention until I finally hit him across the back of his head with a chalk block. As he turned around I quickly gave him the plans and turned to walk away as quickly as I could while trying not to vomit.
