As I noticed Card taking over a workshop and screaming for stone. Man, now I´d known why he never talked. His voice was that horrific.
((Funny, but that's actually true in real life.  Jaws man, why they gotta be all fucked-up?))

Fishybang's journal
It seems that Card has stolen my position as hammerer. I guess I'll just have to get the lower dwarves in the fort to hate his guts, but how?

I found another note on my door! I think Card is reading my journal! Well I think it's about time he had alittle face to face chat with my hammer.

Success! The animal trainer has succeeded in training a yeti. However we still only have one. We must find it a mate so that we can continue to breed them. The usefulness of these animals is endless. Yeti boxing maybe? It would make a fortune.

A caravan lead by unknown creatures has been spotted approaching the fortress. They claim to be from the vamarian empire The Curled Paddle. I had thought these creatures were only legend told to children. They are an artic dwelling race of humanoid foxes. I am greatly interested in what they bring to trade however I will still order the militia at the depot just to be safe.

We are constantly having alerts of thieves trying to break into our fortress. The cage traps catch some but not all of them. A chaos dwarf thief managed to ambush Saegge as he was bringing goods to the depot. Luckily he managed to counterattack and lodge his pick deep into the thief’s chest shattering his spine. He then proceeded to run away screaming until a recruit came to finish the chaos dwarf off.

Timber 20, 127
The dwarven caravan has finally arrived. They brought us nothing. I asked for essentials last year and they brought us very little to use. The vamari on the other hand brought loads upon loads of useful items and materials. The only problem was one of their hammerfoxes decided to kill a polar bear just about to enter our traps. I am disappointed that we could not catch the bear but their supplies will make up for it. We are now swimming in cheese.

The meeting with the diplomat was uneventful. We've created another trade agreement. I requested the same goods as last year. Hopefully they will bring us more next caravan. I’ve also given them more goods to take back to the mountainhome. I’ve made sure that next year we will be upgraded to a barony. With that promotion I will be one step closer to my ultimate plans.

I don't know why I'm carrying 3 swords at once, but I like it.
The Journal of Neo:(Engraved into a bronze sword)
Life in this fortress has been wonderful so far, with no shortage of items to bisect. Whats more, most of the dwarves seem to preoccupied with surviving to care about my precious swords, which suits me just fine. That Fishybang though, I don't trust her. She exhibits a strange aversion to swords, and nothing good can come of any dwarf like that. Still, she is at least more tolerant than those fools at the Mountainhomes, but the need to watch her remains.

Opal 5, 127
Dwarves are having babies everywhere. I need to figure out a way to deal with all of these children. A field trip to the caverns maybe?

Opal 17, 127
The leatherworker has gone insane. He now stands in his shop demanding resources as usual. I look forward to seeing what he creates.

Opal 22, 127
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
A harp? That’s a rather elven thing to make for an artifact. Not to mention all of the spikes. How are you supposed to play an instrument covered in spikes? Some of these dwarves are really starting to disturb me. On second thought, why is there a throne on it? Is this dwarf seeking to steal my seat as mayor? I'm on to him now. His arrogance will be his end.

Opal 23, 127
A woodcutter was struck down in the caverns. He was attacked by a troll. Witnesses report that troll was unharmed from the fight. Why the woodcutter didn’t use his steel axe is beyond me. On top of that the other woodcutter is now cut off from the fort with the troll between him and the bridge. I’ve dispatched the militia to deal with the troll threat. They haven’t had some live training in ages.

The troll has been struck down. Once again Kale was the first and the only one to engage. I don’t know if it’s because he’s fast, wants all the glory or he’s really just that stupid. He managed to slay the beast without being hurt as well. We’ve also laid the woodcutter to rest. We are now at a total of 4 deaths in Boltaura: three due to hostile creatures and one due to an execution. As of now the birth rate more than doubles the death rate so our population should remain stable unless there is some sort of disaster.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
There is a system of caves at the end of the caverns that we don’t have the ability to explore. I believe these caves are where creatures such as the trolls are coming from. I've devised a plan to trap them in this area. I will have it walled off with a single trap lined corridor leading from the edge to the inner areas. I will use the two best baits for catching creatures: A kitten on a rope in front of a wooden door. Nothing could resist a combination like this. We are also nearing the end of our second year in Boltaura. I will have to create new sketches of the fortress reflecting the new changes to our home.

A hobgoblin caravan has arrived today. I’ve ordered more excess trinkets to be sent to the depot. I wonder why every race loves dwarven trinkets so. It must be a great boost to Cogs’s ego. Everyone loves his trinkets. He’s also managed to make some nice figurines about the fortress. Some of them even depicting our enemies being struck down. I’ve also recently noticed that the vamari caravan still hasn’t left our depot. They no longer wish to trade saying they’ve departed yet they just sit there. I think they're trying to live here for free. We must figure out how to get rid of them.

Curses! We have been besieged. A force of bugbear pikemen lead by an axeman mounted on… a stork? Is this like the great evil stork sent to take babies away instead of delivering them to parents? If so it can have all of them. I’ve sent the militia to the gates and ordered all citizens inside. Not a single one of these creatures has any real armor to be spoken of. Our lookouts report that they only wear metal caps and leather clothing. This should be an easy fight. I might also be able to let them get close enough for the vamari to engage. They could be useful instead of continuing to sit in my depot doing nothing but taking up space.

For some reason the game keeps forgetting the nicknames I've set for the dwarves. It's forgotten both Cog's and Kale's.
