Treepurged: A Paladin Sucession Fort in A Terrifying Forest
« on: October 31, 2012, 06:54:52 pm »

In the lands far south, there was a dwarven settlement. In this settlement, there was talk of the forests in the north, where the trees blotted out the sun, and plunged the lands into eternal darkness. The animals there were grotesque from the darkness enslaving them, and in the heart of it was a fortress of goblins, the dark race. In there, unspeakable horrors were done.

It was in this settlement where one dwarf came to the settlement, bruised, beaten and bleeding everywhere. His eyes were blinded by the sunlight, being barely reduced to a squint. One dwarf rushed to his aid held him as the poor old dwarf just breathed his last words: "Its all over..."

It was then when this dwarf went to the Lord of the Settlement and had decied to purify those lands. This dwarf didn't want to see this happen to others trapped in that fortress in the north. This dwarf, Highmax, didnt realise it, but he had begun the first Paladin Order in their history. Highmax grabbed six of the bravest dwarves and marched towards the place where death seems to dwell...

Jee wilikers, I think Highmax is near invulnerable, must have been dunked in the river styx like achilles was.
Just make sure he wears a boot.

Diary of the First Paladin, Highmax
1st of Granite, 126
I have arrived into this forsaken forest. I have brought six of the bravest with me, and we are going to slowly and surely purify this forest. Although it didnt take much to demoralize the others however... When we first stepped into these forsaken lands, the very land itself began to, quite literally, STARE at us.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
There are so many that one could go insane from this... No matter, we need to get across the river first. Our woodcutter will be first cutting down some wood for a bridge so we may cross. Until then, we'll be watched by the eyes and the fish in the water. Nothing horrifying has come yet, but I must say this: we need to get across as soon as we can!

Reclaim with paladins of Holy Cross Bow!
Really, marksdwarves are perfect for reclaiming evil zones, as long as you have bolts and carefully dispose corpses.

I'd like a turn, please. I've been meaning to try this challenge for a while.

Since I'll be reclaiming (I ended up abandoning after the first died) I can set those with a turn with their own professions. So what do you guys want to be as well as a paladin?

I'll take a paladin. Let him haul or do whatever jobs, but once you start a military, I'd like to wield a spear as his weapon of choice.

Just call him Pan.

Since I'm in class for another two hours, I'll be attempting reclaiming so, we have our fourth paladin (yay!)

I'd like a paladin and turn.  He can be whatever now, but if you haven't yet set skills, I would prefer for some points in being an axedorf.
If you have already set on the points, then I'll just take a woodcutter or something.
