Does anybody DFterm anymore?
« on: October 31, 2012, 08:30:41 am »

I've been entirely unsuccessful in trying to set up my own server, and I cannot help but wonder if anybody else has any running right now.

The only registry of such things I could find was empty of any listings, much to my dismay.

Back when the developer released checksums it was a breeze to run. I don't know what to do make it run now. It's a shame, it was hands down the best 3rd party software for DF.

People have been posting new checksums on the thread. The most recent version's is there, and it is as simple as a text edit. That has been the least of my problems.

Help me out here, where do I configure the path to the DF exe? I think it's pointing to an old version but I don't see where to configure it.
-------------------

Nevermind, I found my old user I had created (the admin I'm guessing) and figured it out. It's running. What problem are you having?

And do you know how to close the other curses windows in the putty session so I get just the game? There has to be a full screen button or something but the text files included with dfterm2 are destroying my brain.

Hm, what kind of trouble? What happens? I don't think I did anything special, I just pasted the checksum portion in the right spot in the config file, then configured my slot to point to D:\DF\df_we_11\Dwarf% Fortress.exe and the working directory to D:\DF\df_34_11 and it just works.

How is yours behaving?

I'm getting the following in the dfterm2 console

ERROR: SLOT/DFGlue: CreateProcess() failed with GetLastError() -- 267

DF is set to run in text mode. The checksums are updated. Dfterm2 is let through the firewall. The slot points at the correct directory and executable.

What am I doing wrong???

I'm about ready to cry of frustration!!
