Also are solar panels supposed to generate power at night? Mine's putting out like 50w.

Did you put it close to the glowsticks? I think that works.

Or at least, I remembering thinking if that works, then testing it, but I did forget the results.

No, it was off by itself. It only put out a small amount as I said. Much more during the day. I guess its collecting starlight. :P

I fixed that because you could create some serious troll physics. :p

The solar panels are super efficient so are actually pulling star/moonlight.

I like the game, but the frustration with the colonists eventually just doing nothing puts me off from playing it.

(I posted this in Steam forum as a bug report already:)

So after building hydroponics all my colonists rushed there and ceased doing anything else, ever again. Nothing got built, nothing got repaired. They only stood there wanking the trees and then going to bed, before coming back to wank the trees some more. The only reason they didn't suffocate was the utility bot.

I actually tried leaving the game on and went to the gym, then came back to see if the obsession with the trees was just temporary insanity. Nope, the computer terminal in lab I had asked them to build and a door elsewhere, plus buildings materials in storage, were still just blueprints when I came back over an hour later.

At that point I just quit the game with gusto. I guess I'll try again after the next version comes.

You try bringing down another pod of them?

Yeah, new guys who landed just joined the tree wanking party eventually, maybe after doing some maintenance first. Certainly didn't build anything. There were enough resources available, so it wasn't that.

How many trees? They may have all jsut said "Well, I can build things or I can keep all these bleeding trees alive" and chose the trees.

There was only a small amount of trees, not enough to require everyone to caress them 24/7. Graphically, they seemed to all be doing fine, looking plush and dandy.

Even if it isn't a bug with the hydroponics as such, I think there is something wonky about the colonist priorities. Everyone shouldn't be doing some task over everything else, unless it is a matter of life and death. Likewise I've noticed that there is no point in building multiple workshop tables; only one gets used.

It would be nice if we could set some kind of priorities for the colonists, maybe even per colonist, assigning them roles.

I have seen as many as four tables in use. Of course, I had ten of them...

How exactly does the food supply chain work in this game? Do I need to keep manually 'building' ration packs?

Not currently. Ration packs just offer a good energy to time return. They can eat straight from the tree/chicken at the moment.

Like building materials they allow you to optimise. Although I'm likely to change this as things deepen and I smooth the gameplay over.
