The portal isn't closed. I just have a really big problem uploading the files to it due my net cutting out every 20 minutes. Thankfully Steam works due to their uploader system. I'll try and get the new build up asap.

More yay for still aliveness :D Well, I knew that since I follow Mr. Roth on twitter but it's worth a yay none-the-less :)

You know, something I've always wondered about Steam is how it's uploads for developers work. I mean, I understand if NDAs and stuff stop devs from talking about it, but I've always been curious. Is it a manual process? Is it something you could automate? Do you need someone sitting at a computer to press a button for every release, or would it be possible to leave an AWS instance running or a cheap box running in the corner of the office that handles all that for you?

Since almost all early access games only seem to do big releases instead of a constant trickle of small updates I don't know if that's just the way those developers prefer games to be updated for consumers or if it's somehow forced or encouraged by the steam system. Just one of those things I wonder about :)

You need someone to press a button but everything else can automated such as the upload etc.

Smaller updates don't get attention. So fewer, more notable updates get more coverage, more people checking the game out. Also some youtubers like to do series, so if your save games might break due to new features, far better to leave them a few months apart to stop them having to start fresh every time.
