So how does the game start? A small pre-genned base, a bunch of guys sitting around in ?space? suits, or a truck full of supplies? And will we be able to give people guns and march them out as a makeshift militia?
It would be nice if the map starts were variable, similar to DF. Point system where you purchase supplies and skills for the colonists, as well as what vehicle they arrive in, etc.

I disagree... The first map needs to be familiar to help the players learn the ropes.
i second this, it would be nice to have a sandbox seed generator but we would still need to have some prebuilt maps for starters.

That's what the campaign is for. Story introduction and a small tutorial mission.

Also about this LAN party. What are we going to be doing there ? Just out of interest. My relative has recently passed his driving text so I sure as hell will be there! And is it going to be sort of mid next year ? ( hopefully before September and university intakes :P )

You mean the launch party? We'll I'd assume a bit of drinking, I'll put down a bar tab. Maybe get the game or several games on TVs or a projector. Will have to see what the numbers are like. Should be summer next year yes.

Pretty much. You start with a room of colonists, IMPs and supplies that has an airlock to the outside area. Did you guys catch the live feed? I explained it a bit on there.

Cyber men ?

I think they look more like the space suits from that episode with the parasites in the planet library which inhabit said space suits

I think so. Hopefully at the start of Feb. We are caught up in middleware negotiations for a sound library that Nick really wants for the music. That might hold us back.

Yeah sure. I'll write something up as soon as I've had a look at what I already have and my notes.

E: To be incredibly nitpicky, the hand seems to have a few artifacts around the joints.  That's all I got :o

That screenshot is amazing! It also looks grainy, is post-production or is it actually rendered like that?

That kind of effect would look incredibly cool if there were some kind of horror aspect to the game. Blurring/adding even more noise to the camera - but I digress.

Can't wait for more :)

Question, can we upgrade the space suits ? and they will progressively become more awesome ?
