I would be interested to see the after-launch sale figures of games that have been kickstarted.
Logic says they should be lower, as the "hardcore" audience has either funded or rejected them months ago. (true, some may wait for reviews)

But how big is the effect?
I assume the effect is the same as preordering. Actually, the release figures might be higher, since the game starts with a large community, most of which will be fans. Word of mouth is quite important.

We have yet to have Kickstartered videogames pay off yet.

For all we know they will all be total failures and make us hate one another and try to murder people in their sleep.

Uh... what? I've gotten games through Kickstarter... they all "payed off".

Though after-launch sales-figures doesn't seem like an incredibly useful metric.

Really? I didn't think any of the games on kickstarter have been completed yet.

True, but your original statement still half stands as it did leave me hating the world and make me want to murder people in their sleep.

Gah. First time I completed it I immediately uninstalled. It's so punishing, yet weirdly compulsive.

If I've calculated this right according to current exchange rates we need the indiegogo to hit $15,205 for the robot editior and $95,220 for the telluric designs by the 20th December.

It's currently at $3,066, so I'm hopeful of hitting the first but I doubt the second will happen unless you manage to find another TB level boost.

Post kickstarter phases:

1. Euphoria - IT GOT FUNDED!
2. Impatience - I can't wait to play this!
3. Amnesia - What was it that I funded?
4. Surprise - Oh! That's what I funded!
5. Disappointment OR smugness: Why did I fund this? OR I'm glad I funded this!

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

Whoops, I totally forgot to fund this in time. Oh well, i guess some people have to buy it once it actually comes out to make it profitable anyway :P
