Since it occupies the first three planets in the Sirius Tau system, I can see why.

I wouldn't worry about Kickstarter failing, they generally explode near the end or if a major youtuber gets interested.

This!

Anyhow here's a big interview I did with Beefjack!

And the game is now on Greenlight! http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=107977124

Greenlight? Neat! I do wonder though, is it proper form to be on greenlight before your kickstarter is finished?

The game will be worked on(finished) regardless of the outcome of the KS. The development will just be slower and some features may not be included.

Well let's hope Greenlight raises some awareness because things are not looking good.

Huh steam is being weird on me, I opened up my steam client to go upvote this but for some reason I can't find it on greenlight there. If I go the website way I can find it but not through the actual steam client.

Me too. I originally tried to use the steam client, but I had to use the weblink. That said, upvoted and favorited!

When you are on the greenlight page make sure you select the concepts tab before searching, it won't find it if you are on the games tab.

Calling Dwarf Fortress "inaccessible" on PC Gamer was kind of indelicate.

But Maia is looking to be a great game nonetheless. I hope you succeed, this is a game I would like to play.

Yeah, it's a bit of an understatement =)

I love Dwarf Fortress, but I'll admit it's UI and learning cliff do make it the very definition of inaccessible...then again the complexity that causes the latter and probably doesn't help with the former is one of the things we love about the game so swings and roundabouts ;D

I always wondered if I saved up a few thousand dollars and donated it to toady with a note asking to pretty please abstract the interface so we could use third party things, if it would actually happen or even help at all.  Just a pipe dream of mine.

But yeah I am super excited for Maia.

The game is difficult, has primitive graphics, and has an obtuse AI, but it is not innaccessible by any means, or there wouldn't be anyone playing it. A player who doesn't know the game may never try it thinking it is really innacessible. It is a game that needs an high investment from the player. I'm certain Maia will need some degree of investment to learn as well.
