Alright, after getting back on this, things are getting pretty cool.

I should probably start up with my fort soon, I've only embarked and haved even unpaused yet on the save.
But I guess I'm like the only elf in the world that eats meat and kills trees, I probably conned the others into pulling my wagon here.

So, yeah. I'm an elf.

EDIT: I had an original plan of making my elf's house out of clay, since it wouldn't use a tree, but they don't get masonry as a skill, is it ok that i modded that in to make my clay house?

Sorry, no changes whatsoever to enable elf, human, or goblin: so only Dwarf players can jump right in.

I should have engraved slab for every migrant just when they died, not waiting for ghosts to appear.
Well, if your hermit didn't kill the others or see them die, then it is more in character to not engrave a slab when some migrant has gone missing.  I survived 2 ghosts so far, and hoping my luck continues.

No, any actions from the kiln other than collect clay are pottery, but collecting clay, building the kiln, and using the clay to build constructions all require masonry.

Once I get my house set up, I'll probably re-disable masonry so I can't use it for anything other than my adobe.

I started with my goblin (wasn't there this we). Anyway, I've got migrants wave, and i'm waiting for the liaison (troll brewer) to get back. So lost some times making coffins/slabs. I found some iron, which is great news (best metal, since no steel), and have started to work on some rooms, workshop, etc. Hit cave (5 z-levels from surface).

I'll try to make a journal when I have more time (maybe start at yr2, since I didn't do any for yr 1).

Okay, so I'll see about maybe getting a site picked soon. I've sort of lost track of things and lost a tad bit of interest in Dwarf Fortress, so I'm not sure. I'll let you know tomorrow what I've decided hopefully.

Edit: Well, I think it'd be best to count me out for now, so that people don't wonder who this Kirby guy is on the list and when/if he'll ever get anything done. Otherwise there's a small chance I'll try again, but it's only small, hence the decision.

It really takes forever to get things done with just 1 dwarf.
On the bright side, this challenge is a good way to learn how to optimize various industries.

Set pop_cap to 1
Yeah, if you set the limit to zero, it REMOVES the limit, in effect, it makes the limit infinity
