Hermits United - Someone managed to get through ten years!
« on: October 30, 2012, 12:25:21 pm »

Quote from: the tenth Doctor Who, series 3, Utopia (May not be exact quote)
The  Doctor: I'm a hermit.
Professor: And you have friends?
The Doctor: Hermits united, we meet every ten years to swap stories about caves.

Here is the link to the entity default that should replace to one above:

Important Stuff that can be debated

1) The hermits can pick up to 200 points worth of items.

2) Use of modded races may be allowed (as long as they are not too overpowered)

3) Each person uses their own site.

4) Everyone in the game starts in the same seed, same raws, same world, and same year.

5) Play until the 10th year has been reached, then post in the thread that you have reached that point.  Probably want to create a journal in a word document, due to you having to wait until the everyone has signed in, and then start sharing stores.  Minor exaggerations are allowed and details can be left out to simulate loss of memory.  You may post every 2.5 years, optionally.

6) For travel to the meeting, build up a small stockpile of food and drink, then lock your hermit in there for a short time, to simulate travel to and back from the meeting place.  You must wait one month before you regain control.

7) You may post a backstory, but you cannot mention anything about the location you chose beside initially seeing the location it is at.

The world that could be used.

Hermit forts are an old favorite of mine, so I'll probably take part in this.

Sounds fun! Hermitting is easier with pop cap set to one though, innit? And you're not allowed to trade with the dwarves?

Why is that?  You are not downloading anything from the internet, you just playing on your computer for 10 years (or whatever is decided upon) and posting interesting moments.

Thought - We could use modded-in races as the hermits for variety, everyone will need the raws, as stated earlier, unless [CIV_CONTROLLABLE] is able to be added to entities after world-gen.

I'll.......... Consider it.
If I finish up my current succession project before this becomes big, then yeah.

If your talking about necrothreat, until someone kills the head, nothing is going to happen...

I might join if I get a new laptop soon, any embark limits? Like only a pickaxe or pickaxe and hatchet? Not familiar with hermit to be perfectly honest except its one dwarf vs the world... And only one I saw had just a pickaxe to start

No, I have my own succesion fort that's a retro 2-D fort from version 23A, but that's off-topic.

I am thinking that the hermits can pick up to [100 points - price of copper pick] worth of items, along with [what they need to create a pick, or a pick].
