Can you attach skills to gear?
It is tricky but yes.

The harder part is to attach losing a skill to gear.
That's sad. Are there people here who know how to do it and are willing to do so? Notably for the Holy Log.
I also had an idea for a weapon which damaged the player on attacks. Would this be possible without using skills?
More generally, what can you have gear "do?"

I had an idea. How about, various travelling merchants you buy things off can be revealed at the end to be selling items to you to fund the Big Bad's war effort against you.

So effectively you fund your own demise. If you die that is.
The idea is cool.

I think you could create a custom status effect that will cause a small HP drop for one turn before disappearing. Then you would create a weapon that had a 100% chance to apply that effect to the wielder when used.

The default system seems to be Weapon, Shield (if applicable), Armor, and Accessory. I'm sure you could finangle a way to add more slots if needed.

What we should do is list all the characters

And have everyone opt into what "general weapon type" they want (If any)

Their unique weapons can of course betray this generalisation and be made as a character basis.

Derm for example last time I checked wanted no general weapon set. Meaning all his weapons will be unique weapons assigned to his character (possibly unbuyable)

I'd be using surgical instruments, hack saws, circular saw, syringes, medical lasers, X-rays, scalpels, corkscrews, needles, lances, scissors, etc. Maybe some more advanced sonic equipment if we can shoehorn it in.
