So while the exact way of action is a bit disputed, we're basically going to either:

1. Attack the 'log'
2. Quietly omnomnom and hope it doesn't notice.

Hoping that the 'log' doesn't notice you, you try to ingest a section of its. Your efforts are useless however; you simply cannot digest its' tough hide. You could use your grinding organ, but that would certainly alert the creature to your presence. You also notice that the 'log' has floated away from the 'shore'; it seems to be on its way to the other side of the sewer, to a pile of leafy debris specifically.

Omnivorous Digestive Tract (Sewer Mouse): Simple digestive system with an interestingly large-for-an-omnivore caecum and several organs for increased digestion of food matter.
Skin: Weak and defenseless. Covered in fur.Can digest organic matter that is in contact. Somewhat inefficient.

I really want us to do this.  Failing that, it's taking us to what may be a free meal, so plan B to me is 'attempt to drift almost motionlessly onto the greenery/shore when Mr Log gets close.'

Yeah.  I think this is a good opportunity to get some awesome genetic blueprints from the croc, but we're at least getting a free ride and meal out of it.
But that worming into his nose idea is probably the best one, if we can do it while he wouldn't notice us.
