I read that the big-ish plant we ate before causes animals to be sick

Adopt and secrete its sickening chemical
I think I like chemical debuffs too much.

I love chemical debuffs too, but lets take a closer look before we try to spend our precious EP on stuff that may not give us what we believe it might?

Jake, where did you read our plant meal makes animals sick?  I tried to Google both our lichen and our plant when they were named for us - they're not on Google.  I believe they're made up names to suit our made up world and the being we are.

This plant may have such a chemical... but we have no evidence that I can find to support that claim.

From inside the Fermroot spoiler:
This plant holds few useful properties beyond the its use as a poor-mans bedding and for is strange ability to force most creatures that eat it to empty their insides.

Le gasp!  Thank you, I totally missed that spoiler somehow  :o

I fear we might need to first eat a scorpion?

Quote fail, hehe.

Lets focus on not being eaten by angry mice.

Centipedes in general have modified their first pair of walking legs into poison-injecting venom claws.  We aren't most centipedes, but we might be able to do that with our own DNA.

I do believe they said that the spikes could detatch. We should eat a porcuepine eventually. Poison spine cannon? It's be just like Australia.

Also, why dosen't our fur boost our stomach indirectly be keeping more body heat in?

It might be.  I don't think we know if we're endothermic or exothermic?  If so, there might not be much body heat, or any real difference if we're insulated.

increase long-term storage
how much? i'm in favor of putting all 3 into it. we'll then take longer to fill up, and can aquire more evo points (which seem to be aquired by eating) through out the process, probably more than compensating for the loss.

after that, we need to improve our senses, i particularly want a sense of smell so we can find the already-dead carcass of something that's a more effective predator than us, hopefully something bigger than us.

also, seriously, what did we get from that sewer water? there's got to be something we can use from that stuff, but nothing's listed.

would improving our brain allow us to analyze what we can evolve in more detail?

It is encrusted with sharkmist and HMRC. On the item is an image of HMRC and Pancaek. Pancaek is laughing. The HMRC is melting. The artwork relates to the encasing of the HMRC in metal by Pancaek during the Mission of Many People.))

I'd advise getting other senses before developing sight. You know, electric senses, laminar lines, infrared, hearing...

I'm leery of making longish range evo plans.... or at least leery of believing we're going to stick with them.  The DNA we manage to get is going to greatly influence our decisions of what to try and change towards.  Certain dangerous situations we may encounter likewise may take priority over what we currently think would be good.
