Keyboard problems windows 7
« on: October 29, 2012, 03:03:15 pm »

So, sometimes when I'm typing on my laptop, the keyboard (and mouse) will suddenly go into an odd mode where typing switches tabs.  I do not like that.  Usually I press left ctrl, but that is not working anymore.  Right control does not work too.  Space works and clicking highlights the entire url.  If i click on the url it will highlight, then if I press space, it will erase the url.  Backspace works only on spaces.  If I press "v" the url comes back.   To switch tabs in this mode I can press "h" or "f" and it will sometimes work.  Sometimes pressing o cause open.  Restarting fixes the problem, but I feel like I'm pressing a shortcut for something and want to know if you guys know what I'm doing and the solution.

What brand name laptop are you using?

It probably occurs because of a certain typing order that you press and set it to that mode.

My regular keyboards have been doing that, usually when I am typing pretty fast.  I *think* it's because I've been buying really cheap ones lately (I'm hard on keyboards) and they don't have "n key rollover" like the high quality ones used to. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rollover_(key) and http://blog.controlspace.org/2010/08/n-key-rollover-what-it-is-and-how-to.html
