He sighs, his mind clear and apparently willing to keep discussing the same thing he had before sleeping.

The problem as I see it is that judging from what you said about her kind, Ke would love anyone as long as it was her master. On the other side, if I had the same feelings, it would not be out of duty, DNA or for being built for that. Do you see the lack of balance in a relationship like that?

Diaena, I think my original purpose was lost. I became her 'master' to protect her from the influence of others, and I have to be reminded of that.

You might need to see a few more memories, and I'm sorry if I wasn't clear on it. They may grow to love their owners, but it is not an automatic thing. However, seeing as she was made for one specific person, the fact that she accepted you... I'll leave you to think about what it might mean.

They have the potential to love, but it's not a requirement. And you've done quite well for keeping her away from other influences. But don't confuse any sort of affection she has for ingrained behavior. She WILL do anything you ask, because of genes. She will like SERVING because of genes. Liking you? That has nothing to do with genetics.
