"And I've taste-tested many meals in my time. I'm a pretty decent cook myself, after all, though most food that you can take to the desert is not exactly angelic in taste, to say the least. They've recently perfected how to put food in metal cans for long journeys, though, so that definitely helps. I get the feeling some of you people have had that technology for a loooong time, though..."

Allie pulls off a piece of cake and eats it.

"You didn't give me any... and Richard says it's good..."

Richard nodded, taking a bit off the madeira cake and eating it.

"Interesting. Your world sounds like one of the fantasy worlds I used to dream of writing about."

Maria raises an eyebrow. "Are you calling my homeland a fairy tale?"

"And I could have sworn I brought a few cans with me, too...where'd they go? Also, hello, catwoman."

"Hi. Sona's serving up dirt soup which is apparently good. She hasn't served me any yet."

We're just having breakfast with the new girl. She seems nice.

And technically, to me,it is. Mine would be a fairy tale to yours.

But no, I'm talking about similiarities."

Richard took the bowl and gulped it down again.

"Jesus Christ, you sure that's dirt soup? It's quite nice."

"Yes, I'm sure. I made it, after all."

Allie pulls off a piece of cake and eats it.

"You didn't give me any... and Richard says it's good..."

"Hold on a moment."

She continues ladling out soup into bowls, then lays them out on a table.
"There we go. That should be enough for everyone."

Silver sits at a window upstairs and stares at the rain. She sends a burst of fire at it and watches as the steam quickly vanishes.

Richard picked up the madeira cake and took out some cutlery.

"Would anyone like a slice of this?"

Kwykathen picks up a bowl, sniffing it before upending the contents into her mouth.

"...Not bad."

Kwykathen glances at richard.

"Depends. What is it?"

Allie takes a sip.
"Huh. This is acually pretty good. Sorry about saying it looked unapetizing earlier."
She finishes the soup and grabs another handfull of cake.

Nenikki had finished a while ago.
"Thank you for the soup, Sona."

"Madeira cake. A delicacy in my world.

Probably not something YOU'd like, Torikan. It's not fleshy and meaty."

"Okay, but really, where did those cans go?"

She looks around, pokes her head outside, and sees them out there.

"Ahah!"

She goes out and gets them and returns with three hefty cans of....

"Infidel-Killing Meals, guaranteed to help holy warriors in distress. Not that there are any infidels here."

She chuckles. And yes, that IS the label. How pleasant.

"And yes, I do know how to cook actual food too, not just these oh-so-convenient packages."
