Is that a joke? I regularly command others of my kind, and several beings that aren't. I'm forced, occasionally, to pass judgement on issues that are personal to those involved... To solve disputes, to deal with odd requests.

She chuckles, but her tone remains serious

And one of the things I've learned is that most of the dilemma comes from one's mind, not one's heart. We make our own choices, but that doesn't mean we don't examine them. It's what keeps us from casual cruelty.

Barth keeps walking, looking for the signs that indicate proximity of fresh water and finding a small brook. "...This will have to do."

The young medic drinks a good amount of the water in his waterskins, eats some of the dried fruits and takes off the bandages and his clothing, taking a bath and mumbling.

I hope it doesn't involve you using her as a host.
