Maria stops there, before suddenly drawing her blade off her back.

"I was going to avoid the sword seeing as it's probably heavy enough to slice you in half with a good swing, but on second thought, I should be able to get you fixed up if anything happens, so why not?"

The sword, by the way, is almost as long as she is tall. Yikes.

James draws his sword in a swift motion. Relative to Maria's sword, his is a little undersized.

Maria simply takes up a defensive stance, hopefully ready to block or counter any strikes, and waits for James to come to her.

James sighs and makes a quick horizontal slash, aiming just below Maria's sword.

Tyrion walks back outside again, and he moves with his older gait, but slower, as if he were still in pain. He walks up to Barth, Ke, and Diaena and waits for them to finish speaking.

Maria doesn't even bother blocking, and James probably soon realizes why. Against a solid metal dress (and thick metal at that- it would be much too heavy for any human to move around in), his sabre bounces more or less like a ping-pong ball.

The knight responds by lifting her sword up and attempting to bring it down on Jame's sword arm.

His tone is that of a teased man, the specific mixture of amusement and indignification.

Maria follows his movements (not instantly, of course, but quite respectably fast given she's wearing all that armor and wielding that huge sword) and swings again, this time aiming at Jame's legs.

James hops back, not quite fast enough to completely avoid injury.
He winces from the cut but recovers quickly. He moves in for an attack at Maria's back.

Maria rather suddenly throws the sword away, helping her turn and face James much faster.

His attack still runs right into plate mail, and she counters by throwing a few punches herself.

"A knight's weapon should be elegant and versatile. That thing might as well just be a large metal club!"
