Richard thought back to two years ago, when he had just started out in Roehampton College.....

Richard was walking around the corridors, getting used to the place. He noticed a bulletin board.

On it was a poster saying 'Creative Writing Contest! Win a slot on the Japan trip!'

"Awesome! I'll try out. I've always WANTED to go to Japan!"

After hometime, he went home and began working on a piece about a catgirl with nature abilities, deconstructing them as the piece went on.

Two weeks passed and he submitted it. He got a place on the field trip.

"Little did I know I was about to be changed forever. Sorry for the melodrama, I'm a bit dramatic."

Richard coughed and took a deep breath.

So Richard went over with nineteen other lucky students. They went to some island area near Kyoto; apparently they needed to know Japan wasn't all cities and crap.

Except the island was as city like as you could get.

Anyway, Richard enjoyed it there, having fun, killing time in the arcades and wandering around.

That is, until the second night.

So Richard stayed in the local mall, past their assigned curfew. He just killed time, not realizing he needed to get back. He went and played in the arcades, until just before midnight.

He had bought a coffee and was just about to sit down when suddenly, everything stopped.

The lights went out. Everything was illuminated by a green light from outside.

The fountain behind Richard was now filled with blood.

Everyone around him had turned to coffins.

And there was a load of scrabbling sounds nearby.

"Oh shit."

Richard slowly headed out.

It was eerie, as everything that was vibrant and lively was gone.

All that was left were blood puddles and coffins.

Richard picked up a plank. He might need a weapon, and this would have to do.

He wandered the streets, hoping to find someone.

Nobody.

He was alone.

And this was the very thing he feared.

So he continued wandering.

Until he was surrounded by floating die, glowing with power.

He swatted at them, making some of them fall, but they kept coming.

And then he felt a searing pain in go head and collapsed to his knees.

"Agghhh!"

Richard heard a voice in his head.
"Thou art I...and I art thou."

A blue light appeared above him, before the floating dice recoiled.

The light dazzled everyone, and then when it had faded, Richard heard something.
"I am Ixion, the Fallen King. Yours to command."

A black, winged unicorn, with glowing eyes and horn appeared above Richard's head.

The unicorn reared and neighed, striking the die with lightning until they died or fled.

And Richard felt relieved. Whatever that unicorn thing was, it had saved him.

He also felt that somehow, that unicorn thing, Ixion, was him.

And he was Ixion.

He shook his head and continued running.

Eventually, the unicorn disappeared and everything returned to normality.

Except Richard.

He was changed. Changed forever.

His Persona had revealed itself. Ixion, the Fallen King.

But little did he know of the struggles he would go through the next evening.
