She snorts in contempt at the pills.

"I need booze, not pills."

Nayaru nods idly, paying more attention to the screen.

Maria chuckled.
"Don't remember exactly what the Lord said about alcohol, but not much of it was good. As they say, it is a thing to be had only in moderation. On the other hand, no alcohol for weeks does sound pretty painful."

"As for my methods... Well, this isn't exactly a method, but to start off with, I can hardly ignore this."

She places the book on a convenient table in front of her.

"This can repair any wounds and damage as long as they're no more than about two inches deep into the skin...including, apparently, cleanly cut off limbs. It's...useful, to say the least. But if it gets into really deep wounds or organ damage, I have to do good old fashioned surgery, so I'm still trained in normal, mundane medicine."

Cue description of normal mundane medicine. It's a lot like medieval or Victorian medical knowledge but with some of the misconceptions filed off.

Silver listen to her, and gets an idea. She appears to close her eyes, but that is an illusion and the real Silver drops down and stands in the corner of the room Maria's in under the guise of a dragon.

"There was also a windmill. And rumbling. It started raining opaque purple liquid, which I assume was seadweller blood."

"Bleh. Hate alcohol."

"Kwykathen, considering the situation, you may have to make do."
James turns his attention back to the TV, briefly wondering why he was enjoying the show so much.

((Seems like Barth's, except that he has RPG-ish herbs to help him. :P))

"I rarely try surgery." Bartholomew says, taking off his plague doctor mask and tying it once more to his backpack. "And I have an extensive knowledge of herbs and natural healing substances."

"Could you guys also make a hamburger out of this arm when they cut it off? I wanted to eat it just for the sake of tasting it."
>That is horrible and disgusting. It will no doubt set you apart and create fear in your team mates. So of course.

"In dream, I chuckled a bit, knowing you wouldfind amusement in that. I walked into the lighthouse as it started to rain all the other colors. There wasn't anything special about it. Just old, dusty furniture. I walked to the top and a crow with an orange shine in its eyes landed on the windowsill. By this time, it had started raining colors that trolls don't even have."

"Well, if a man's got a bullet stuck in his gut, you need to take it out or he isn't going to last too long. Trust me, I've seen some very nasty things in my time... and done some pretty crazy stuff to fix them." She grimaces momentarily.

After  Barth's full explanation sinks into her head, Maria smiles wryly. "And where I was working, there was plenty of sand and hardly anything that could be called healing herbs."
