"Do not move for a while." Bartholomew says to Bryan, narrowing his eyes and his voice assuming a slightly harsher tone. "You broke some ribs, and you were lucky they didn't shatter into pieces."

Barth smiles and watches Ke eating, being slightly surprised with the speed she does so. She's apparently a big eater, which should come as no surprise to him - having in mind her larger "bodyguard" form, of course.

"I'm just lucky I carry more of those than salted meat."

Kwykathen came into the Hive, with some dead animals slung over her shoulders. All of them had their throats torn out and their necks snapped, pointing towards quick kills.

"Thought I'd make up for earlier," she said gruffly, placing the corpses on the floor.

Most serpents consume a large, high energy meal, usually whole if not still living, and then rest for a while. Her kind, because they can't digest meat, is forced to extract the same energy from other foods. So her kind eat smaller portions, to avoid lethargy, but they still consume quite a bit over a day.

"Seeing as no-one else is story-sharing, I guess I'll go. It's not much. Basically, I was born with the extra set of arms and was lucky to survive. Nobody liked me, aside from a few. I was a freak of nature, and my mutations scared them. I'm sure having a bright red eye and a slate gray eye is offputting. I grew up a member of an atheist family who had to move to a heavily religious neighborhood, so once the horns started growing out of my head, I got treated worse. Nobody liked me even less. I was "Devil-girl". My family eventually moved to Oregon. One of the less extremely religious neighborhoods. Life was relatively good there."
