Sapphira pokes Gaston a bit.

((Nicole walked back to the group with Lucas and Ori. She was over at the far end of the clearing with the timber.))

"You know how you demonbloods got sick of the plants and actually went to war with them?"
"Yeah, but it's not our fault that we ended up starting Gelduzmorn's first world war. We're not proud of it, either."
"I'm not complaining. Those plants are xenophobic freaks. We Nyelrrithics came to you demonbloods' side."
"But the war didn't do us any good. They were like our only trading partner at the time. The Tundra Iloial at least weren't as bad as the ones who lived in the swamps near your capital city. But then our oligarchy decided it hated the Iloial. They didn't consider how war would affect us."
"But when they attacked you, you fought back well, according to the history books."
"We did live in a mining-outpost-turned-research-facility, and we were researching weapons. It still wasn't so great for Corumaret. I wasn't even born yet when the war ended, but it affected us even after the point I was born. I'm 77 years old and the war was like 200 years ago."
"But you made such great advancements that we would never have thought of using their corpses! You guys discoverd that their nerves, when made into a blanket or some clothes, are wonderfully warm. That their hair-petals are great for making dyes. That-"

Sapphira takes out Arachna and plays with her a bit. Much happy squealing is had from the latter.

"Oh. This is Arachna, by the way. "
