Eventually, the smoke clears to reveal a devastated landscape, with the ground turned to glass. Only one thing is still alive and well: the girl. She floats back down to the ground and collapses.

Nicole. SHE WALKS back to the walker, content with her meal. SHE WALKS TO HER ROOM, somewhat tired, but more importantly, SHE NEEDS TO LOOK AT ALL OF HER BELONGINGS, to make sure they're in proper fucking order. SEEING AS THEY ARE, SHE SITS DOWN ON HER BED and retrieves a book, which she opens CASUALLY. SHE PULLS A PEN FROM a pocket in her jacket and proceeds to write.
