The fight rages on. Shadow Maria is trying to find a way around Maria's defense.

Somewhere near the large wreck, Coyote is fighting... A thresher maw. On foot. With a rifle.
"The heck is this thing? It's like a giant... Wormy... Thing. Hmm... Just like old times. EAT IT, WORMY THING! YEAH! EAT LEAD!"

[Twi]

Marie starts laughing evilly on the sidelines.

"Hehe. You two do know that you've already lost, right? Maria accepts herself quite well, and Andre... well, I'm sure he's heard that discretion is the better part of valor. "

Maria, meanwhile, keeps the Shadow at bay long enough to summon Thera normally. It promptly attempts to eat Shadow!Maria whole. ...Jeez, breaking all the rules today!

Camille stands around awkwardly somewhere.

Both Theras fight to kill each other, while Camille is promptly run into by Shadow Maria, still speedboosted by that weird ....fusion thing.

"Regardless, we will destroy you. We want to be REAL. We want to be CARED FOR.

And we cannot do this while our fake selves are still alive."

[SomeStupidGuy]

"My responsibility is to help those who need it, whenever possible. It isn't possible to save everyone. I certainly wish it was, but that's just how the world works."

[Twi]

"I thought yourrrr shtick was being the same person. What, do you just...rrrreplace the perrrrrson or something?"

Camille is unhurt by the collision and gives Shadow Maria a little kiss, then runs off.

Maria stabs herself again, summoning... Krieg? 'Krieg' promptly roars a battlecry and charges the Shadow Thera, getting to work on it as she would any other machine.

Marie, meanwhile, starts shifting again, laughing maniacally.

"Oh,  I think your assessment doesn't properly account for a few variables, emotionless robot who desires emotions! "

"Feint failed. Proceeding with reinforcements."

[Twi]

" Ah. Figurrrred. "

Camille shoots Shadow!Maria, just for the hell of it.

Meanwhile, Marie's new form begins to take shape: a bottle of vodka  here, a radiation warning symbol there... wait, what?

'Krieg' continues smashing Shadow!Thera in the important mechanical bits.

Then the reinforcements show up.

Three large ogre Shadows.

Meanwhile, Shadow Andre nods.

"Sod you. Coward."

He charge Andre.

Gaston intercepts one, slashing at it, while Alith shoots at Shadow Maria, who ignores the arrows.

[SomeStupidGuy]

"Hah, I was wondering when you'd do that." Andre attempts to parry whatever attack his Shadow tries.

[Twi]

Maria attacks Shadow Maria or an ogre, whichever's closer.

Meanwhile, Marie is finally done:

A woman with startling resemblance to a certain Vocaloid, even with a bottle of vodka... Aside from the massive radiation warning symbol tatooed on her chest. And back. And shoulders.

She sighs and takes a drink from her bottle.

"My world is so unoriginal. Oh well. Prepare to die. "

A nuclear alarm siren begins sounding. Where the hell is it coming from?

Camille takes cover, a bit worried.

"Bloody hell."

Richard takes cover, as does Alith.

The Shadows are sort of worried.

[Twi]

Maria takes cover as well!

Just in time for the klaxons to start blaring, adding to the cacophony. A massive ball of plasma forms over Marie's head....

Then it turns into a great sweeping beam of plasma. Kind of a nuclear Hyper Beam, really. It targets Shadow!Maria first, then sweeps across to Shadow!Andre, going after any ogres along the way.

Andre keeps out of the beam's way.

The ogres are insta-killed, but Shadow Andre and Shadow Maria still remain alive, for a bit....

....then they fade into red mist, and the cafeteria doors open.

Meanwhile...

"That's irritating. The only one with real problems is my twin.

Bullshit. I'll need to exploit that then. It seems all of them are psychologically sound.....except...the doppelganger.

Yes. He'll be next...if his Shadow kills the party, then I'll be free."

"Presuming you can get the artifact there before it's too late, emotion-being.

There is much less to them as you think. They are just.....well, not immortal. Even the knight-automaton and the spirit-thing."

"I know how they act. I know what they plan to do."

"Very well, emotion-being. I will leave this in your hands.

Be aware. I do not manipulate this world for your own bidding, Shadow. I do it for mine.

I will destroy you if you fail."

"....understood."
