It's the Shadow who snuggled to Marie. It seems to recoil from Richard; it was just behind them.

Instead of black empty holes for eyes, it has golden eyes for some reason.

Marie proceeds to snuggle it again!
Camille stares at the Shadow, and Maria watches cautiously.

It makes a gurgling sound.

"Why is there a Shadow hugging Marie?"

"Don't ask me, Monsieur."

"She IS Marie, after all."

[Twi]

Marie gives the Shadow a little smooch.

"Your mask is very nice~"


Meanwhile, Camille provides commentary.

"Maybe it's herrr shadow self thing orrrr something. It's got the eyes, afterrrr all. "

"Doubt it. It's not talking, shapeshifting or trying to humiliate/kill us."

[Twi]

"Trrrue, but then again. Dead people don't fearrrrr. Anyways, it IS kinda cute."

Marie sets the Shadow on her shoulder, assuming it's a reasonable size for that sort of thing.

Maria, meanwhile, looks around warily.

It isn't small enough.

It just crawls next to Marie, keeping away from Richard, and moving away whenever Richard gets nearer to Marie.

The party enters the cafeteria. It seems recently abandoned, with some......things on plates on some of the dusty tables.

Camille investigates the cafeteria, deciding not to think too hard about the 'food.'

Maria stays with the main group.

Marie...well...hugs the Shadow some more.

Gaston follows Camille, while Alith stays near, keeping his bow ready.

Richard instinctively reaches for his Evoker, only to remember it isn't there.

[Twi]

Maria sticks next to Richard.

Marie is still cuddling the Shadow, and Camille is still looking around.

Richard sighs and takes out Durandal. Even if he can't use it properly, at least he can hold off any Shadow self that comes in.

The gold eyed Shadow continues gurgling in Marie's hands.

Camille and Gaston find nothing but smelly juice boxes and mouldy fruit.

[Twi]

Camille goes back to everyone else then.

"Nothing to do but wait. And walk arrrround rrrandomly, of courrrrse. "

At least, until Gaston notices a vending machine. Unlike everything else, it seems to be active.

"The hell is that doing there?"

It seems Richard noticed it too.

"You know what zat is?"

"It dispenses goods for money."

Camille examines the vending machine, too!
