Maria is actually doing things, too. And making Camille and Richard spar a bit.

Camille resists the temptation to either glomp Richard or run away. Somehow.

Richard refuses to fight unless Camille strikes first. Neither actually seem to be conflict-oriented people, it seems.

Maria sighs and decides to attack them herself, snatching Excalibur back from Camille and swinging it at Richard.

This IS about defense, after all.

Meanwhile, Marie may or may not be hatching a plan! Or perhaps several plans!

Richard raises Durandal clumsily in defence.

Andre watches quietly. He starts laughing when Maria attacks Richard.
"That was getting a bit boring. C'mon, Richard, if you're going to block that weakly you may as well just dodge."

"Where are you planning on going off to, anyway?"

[Twi]

Richard manages to block it!

....barely. It really, really hurts, though.

"Your grip's wrong- that's why it hurt so much. Let me show you. And for god's sake, don't block edge on edge. It destroys the sword. Even if your sword's enchanted, it's not a good habit to get into. And that was so clumsy...well, you could have done much better by stepping backwards. Footwork is important, you know. "
She shows him the proper- or at least, a better - grip.

"Perhaps I will stay here a while. "

Richard rubs his hand, holding Durandal in his other hand and looking pained.
"Not my fault I'm shit at sword fighting. I didn't grow up in medieval times like most of you."

Richard wrings his hand out, then holds Durandal in that grip and puts a single foot behind him, a single foot forward.

"I think this is how I do it?"

"Technically, it is, since you declined the offer of training when we had reasonable amounts of time. Although your Shadow apparently didn't need the sword lessons. To be fair, he hardly engaged in melee combat at all.

That's...better, by the way.

Work on dodging, though. Blocking giant ogres is usually impractical. "

"Indeed. Unless we come upon a shield, you'd be better off dodging for most, if not all, blows."
"If you say so. Anytime you actually want to go out there and want someone to come along, feel free to ask."

Ori nods and continues looking around.
Eventually, she wanders off to explore the area.

"Considering that I could probably withstand being hit in the face by a bunch of fireballs, thanks to whatever insane immunity my Personas have, I could afford some idiocy, but not too much. It still hurts like hell to be hit with fire. Or be frozen.

Then again, since my Shadow stole my Personas...."

[Twi]

"Good enough. Unless Andre has anything else to add, we should get going. "

Meanwhile, Camille randomly looks through her bag and sees if she has internet here. Just for the hell of it.

"Ok, so all I need to do is stay behind you guys."

[Twi]

"Your savvy is wavering, Richard. Surely you can figure put the problem here. And don't say it, I already know. Bet Camille's figured it out too. "

"...Oh, yeah, I think I know what you mean."

"That's about all I can think of that'd be useful. At least in the time-frame we're limited to."
