Maria follows Lucas, her hand on her book as usual.

Camille tries to say something...and fails.

She frowns, then shrugs and proceeds with her relentless tweakery of Cath's ears.

Reinhilde!Marie grins.

"Slaying the horrific noble dragon, eh? I'm up to the task! "

She follows Ariana through the archway.

"Good or bad dragon?"

On the arch's other side there's an oddly long hall, as they begin walking, Ariana resumes speaking.
"No, no, we're not slaying him. We're here for a far less noble cause. And as for his goodness, well, he was good once, one of our greatest allies in fact, but now... he's  far from good.
You see, apparently, a dragon's immortality, in my world at least, came from it's scales. As I would hope you've guessed from his name, Seath lacked scales. In a desperate attempt to avoid his own mortality, he searched for some way to mimic his fellow dragon's natural abilities through sorcery.
That search drove him insane, by the end he was simply testing the limits of his power."

"And the cause is?"

[Twi]

"Well, that's not very good. What are we doing about it? "

[SomeStupidGuy]

"The cause? Hah, you could make any number of guesses for the cause. Side effects from the magic, spending too much time around those crystals, who knows?
Personally, I've always figured it was the sudden realization, that contrary to everything he had ever believed, he was going to die and he had no control over it."
She sighs. "On the more pertinent details. He would send out his Channelers to capture undead and take them to this place, to be experimented upon. Creating, most often, those poor souls covered in crystals back there."

"Well, that's not very good. What are we doing about it? "

"As I said before, I don't think we could kill him. My aim's more to give a small mercy to one of his captives. An old friend of mine."

"I was asking what the less noble cause was, but you answered it already."

[SomeStupidGuy]

"Right, right, sorry. This whole thing is just making me a bit absent minded, I guess."

[Twi]

" Sounds nice. "

Reinhilde!Marie chuckles and rests her axe on her shoulder.

" Onwards to victory! "

Allie mimics Marie with her axe.

Arnkeni checks her grenade launcher.

Nicole makes sure her hammer is in a decent state of repair.

They reach the end of the very conveniently long hallway, which leads out to a tall cylindrical room, with cells and an aged spiral staircase lining the walls. Ariana begins descending the stairs, but gets attacked by a large lizard-like creature wielding a rusty greatsword and an equally rusted shield. She gets slashed across her midsection. She prepares her spear, gripping her wound with the other hand.
"Damn. Forgot about these things."
Another two come running up the stairs.

Reinhilde!Marie goes to help in the staircase, swinging away at the lizard. Assuming she can fit, anyways.

Allie tries to get at the lizard and decapitatify it.

[SomeStupidGuy]

The lizard raises its shield, blocking most of Marie's onslaught.
One of the others moves in to intercept Allie's attack, fighting her one on one.
The third backs up the other two, slashing intermittently at both Marie and Allie.
Ariana's leaning against the wall, trying to stop her wound's bleeding.

Allie electricutifies the lizard she's fighting while Nicole goes all John Egbert on the third of them. There is no way that Arnkeni could be useful because grenades hurt everyone. Deja vu just happened.
