One of the thorns shoots off of the most and flies right by Allie's head.

She runs behind a nearby shelf.

Nathan smirks. "Whatever you say."
Ariana raises her shield, protecting her head.

Iris responds by throwing the ball point-blank at Nathans face.

Four out of every five thorns in a cluster grow another segment, while the remaining fifth one just gets longer. The thorns that are fired from the moss get more and more accurate.
"This is not good."

Nathan doesn't bother moving and gets hit in the face. "Uncalled for."
He sticks his tongue out.
"Indeed." Ariana fires off a few soul arrows at the plant-thing.

Iris turns into a cat, leaps onto Nathans lap, and extends her claws.

Nathan grimaces. "That... was genuinely uncalled for. Ow."

The soul arrows fail to deter the moss. It hasn't developed pain receptors yet. What it's working on developing are hands. Jagged-clawed, warped, slender hands. The color of the moss is shifting to a more pale flesh color.

Iris walks off Nathans lap and curls up on the armrest to sleep.


Silver flies over to the hive, walks in, and goes to sleep on a chair.

The group reaches twenty feet from the outer wall of the funghive. It's built up many hard plates and spikes, but there are plenty of unarmored spots.
"Know what to do, Isabella?"


The moss has ceased to be much of a moss and more of a fleshy biomass. The teeth are sharp and crooked. They're starting to form radial mouths. The hands have finally attached the thumb to the other four digits.

Allie's frantically running around the store, dragging shelves to make a makeshift fort to hide behind.

The asphalt spider walks into the store.
