Somewhere in the woods, a person walks! A person with blonde hair, dark eyes, prominent fox ears, and even more prominent fox tails. Yes, tails, five of them. She wears leathers that look to be designed for engineering or mining work, fairly heavy hiking boots, and a pair of goggles on her forehead. Oh, and leather work gloves, too. The tanned cowhide seems to be more for function than fashion, at any rate. There's an impractically large sword on her back, as long as she is tall, and also some sort of backpack. She seems to be..talking to someone?

"Yeah, I know, we've been walking for weeks. Do you see a tavern by the wayside? I think not, bug."

"The name's STILL Issun!"

"Don't care, Gnat."

Who is she talking to and why do they sound so squeaky?

The mysterious fox lady is still lost in the woods and will continue to be lost until encountered.

Alith encounters her.

For some reason, he seems to be a). disguised as Iris, and b). covered in kittens again.

Speaking of Iris, she's sitting on a tree in ears-and-tail form.

Lucas, Jacke, and Trebuchet start doing some various forms of research. On what, no one knows.
Deep within Jacke, the tiberium spreads further and further.

"Oh, no, a horrible beast~!"

"...No, you stupid Gnat, that's just a nekomata. Covered in more kittens. You! Hold still if you don't feel like being on fire."
 She concentrates, then summons up a small ball of flame, which she uses to hopefully drive the kittens off without actually hurting anything.

Iris drops down and starts wandering, somehow finding herself in a tree above Alith. As in, the tree is floating in the air.

Alith screams, turning back into his doppelganger form.

"Shit! Fire! FIRE!"

Iris looks down and blinks a few times at the scene.

"Is there something I'm missing here?"

The fox lady lets the fire dissipate out of her surprise.

"What the... What are you, a doppelganger?"

"More importantly, why is there a floating tree with ANOTHER nekomata in it?"

Iris crosses her arms.

"Anima."

[Twi]

A little mechanical fly buzzes up to Iris.

"I thought that word had something to do with souls."

[Jellycat12]

"Maybe in your world, but in mine it's the name of my species. Specifically, I'm a cat anima."

[Twi]

"So beastmen then? I guess that makes sense. I'm Issun! Greatest...."


"Greatest annoyance. If you'll excuse him...I am Sapphira Wittgenstein. Artificer."

The fly buzzes back down to the fox, specifically over her pack. Something metallic promptly pokes its (spider-like?) head out of the bag and chomps down on the fly.
