Marie finds that Nicole's foot is slowly burning.


The elevator group reaches the bottom. The elevator doors creak open to reveal a massive cavern. All around are minimum 20-story-tall buildings that don't even come close to touching the cieling. In the distance is a massive castle-like building. And nobody in the streets.
"Wha..."

[Twi]

"Nicole, do these bugs use some kind of incendiary rounds? Your foot is on fire. Make it not on fire."

She attempts to find her own way to put out fires. Or at least borrow one from Phyliss.

Marie's aattempts to extinguish Nicole's foot fail.
"Y-yes, they have a fascination with fire."

Marie did not actually attempt to put it out yet.

"Well get a move on or stop burning somehow! Preferably both!"

Marie's attempts to extinguish Nicole's foot will fail.


"The church is nearby. Follow."
"Okay."

James examines the big guardian's corpse.
Ariana follows along.

The cat sticks it's head out of the snow and looks around.

Marie, of course, isn't going to do this herself.

She frowns for a moment, then:

"Wait what do you mean you're coming over here can you ev-"

A ghostly woman appears, dressed in an oversized Techpriest's robe. It's Phyliss herself! She seems in a sciencey mood. Marie is quite surprised. Also, Phyliss speaks:

"A fire that sticks to her flesh, you say? Crows, what I'd have given for a thing like that..."

Phyliss also examines Nicole.

Nicole finds a stairway and descends.
The fire is spreading to her lower leg.


"This place is amazing."
"I was better before your family let the Reethokern in."
"I'm not responsible for any of that!"

Phyliss sighs.

"I'll add it to my collection, I suppose."

She then...draws the fire off of Nicole and onto a little ball of flame above Phyliss's palm? How does that even physics? ...ah, well.

In any event, that should, in theory, save Nicole from firey doom. Phyliss looks over her again to make sure she got it all.

"This place is boring. I'm gonna go back."

((In case I never said this, Phyliss is a fire elemental as well as a spirit. It's complicated. xP))

"It doesn't matter now, regardless of how much of a role her family played..." She trails off noticing a shadowy figure run past them. No one else would notice this.

The fire moves nowhere except for further up her leg.


Braug opens the door and steps in.
"Get in!"

Ariana enters the church, considering what she just saw.

Phyliss GLARES at the fire.


"Why are you doing this to me?"

She tries harder. And is liable to keep trying for a loooong time.

Marie just...eh...leaves her to that and gently 'pushes' them both along.
