She takes the attack... and is quite fine. Thera vanishes now, though.

"You think something like that can stop the likes of us!?! Courage, men! We'll send him to Davy Jone's locker yet!"

Richard suddenly feels a bit better. As does Maria and James. And then Maria heals Richard and James herself for added effect.

((Ah.))

"I doubt it.....Shadow."

The skeletal figure laughs, before bombarding everyone with pure energy. Repeatedly. And rapidly.

((Eheheheheh. Our first real loss. Unless that fiasco with the robo-dog counts.))

"The only names I care about are those of the Pope and of God."

Santa Anna continues to benefit from stupidly large amounts of defense, weathering the storm admirably. She imparts some of that defense to everyone else while she's at it.

And then she realizes something.

"...Well I'll be. Nobody ever says God's servants had to 'play fair.'"

She sends a wave of water at the shadow. It doesn't do much damage if it hits: its side effects are more important (although those are pretty weak too due to her multitasking).

((Maria is not yet willing to give in!))

The figure merely shrugs it off and blasts more energy at the party.

"You fool. Retreat while you still can.

I am the Reaper. Harbinger of Death. The Grim Reaper, as you might say.

Oh, and I have managed to defeat many like you. Even....the Wild Card."

It cackles before continuing it's barrage.

"So if the door won't break, then maype we can damage what's holding it?"
"The hinges are made of the same metal."
"I'm talking about the wall."

He rises, very clearly struggling to do so, and fires on it.

The Reaper continues firing on the party.

Richard loses the last bit of his strength, and Ixion, who he'd instinctively summoned, shattered as he collapsed face-down.

"They didn't have Faith on their side."

"And their souls weren't built from the ground up to defeat death."
Maria, with that oddly out-of-character and out-of-voice statement....goes to healing Richard. Very intensely.
Santa Anna, meanwhile, picks up her banner and proceeds to smash the Reaper's skull with it. She's wincing a little now, but nothing major. And Maria seems to not care about the pain right now.

((...I just realized that Maria's self-preservation instinct really is weaker than other peoples. This could end badly.))

The Reaper laughs, before smashing Santa Anna away into a tree.

"Faith? The last group foolish enough to face me had a person with the power of a GOD. And the one before that one had Death herself sealed within him.

Faith won't save you here, my friend."

He continues blasting the party with energy, laughing.

Richard is barely healed, although the barrage is mitigating the healing.

[OREOSOME]

"Hmm... Interesting. I don't know about much that can actually withstand that sort of punishment. I'd assume Laser weapons wouldn't work that great."
He examines the wall deeply, trying to get a Feel for the matter it is made of.

The wall appears vto be made out of an unfamiliar type of stone, but probably breakable. ((Slash the probably.))

"Death is a woman? Intriguing. And encouraging."

Santa Anna is barely even hurt by the smashing and gets right back up, clubbing the Reaper again. ...And again, and again, and again.

Maria keeps healing away, oblivious to pain.

Meanwhile, Kogasa!Marie suddenly vanishes from the ruins...

And appears by the Reaper.

" Oh, hey, there, fello- WAIT A MINUTE YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO KILL THEM DAMN IT. Death is the card of change! "

He looks for the weakest section of the wall, and performs the technique used before when they took over the ship, Repelling matter from his hand. This causes some of the wall to open up, provided it works.
"Right, Lets try THIS!"

James continues firing, but he's not doing well.
"Hmm." She begins lightly tapping her spear against the walls around the door, looking for weak points or secret entrances.

The Reaper glares at Kogasa-Marie.

"I don't follow YOUR beliefs in tarot cards. I serve merely to...fight."

He continues blasting everyone with energy, Santa-Anna in particular.

Richard is well and truly out.
