"The farms were too poor to have anything valuable and the mines were ridiculously dangerous, Lucas. The machinery in the mines usually killed more than the invaders. See, the demonbloods were like the dwarves in your videogames. When everyone else was hitting eachother with swords and shooting bows, they were playing with basic firearms. We Nyelrrithics did not need guns, as we were adept magicians, though we've lost our skills. And yet demonbloods retain them."

Nicole looks at the primitive-looking stone walls.
"This is an older part of the city, made in one of its first years, when the Daetrlunaudkis were at war with the Reethokern."
"What's a Reethokern?"
"Reethokern is plural. A Reethoker was sort of a insect-person."

Allie shudders.
"I hate bugs."

"Don't think Cami-"

Maria stops and listens as well.

"...Chains, you say? Never a good sign."

She summons up Thera, who looks around anxiously.

Richard tries to quieten his breath.

"That could be bad." He draws his rifle.

Maria looks around some more and draws Arandal from her back.

"A human scaled up to eight feet tall would, yes. But there are plenty of ways to make an organism. A lot of animals are made from somewhat different materials than humans. "

"Yep. Just like the underground colonies I'm used to, then. What do you think happened, to get rid of all the people? From what I could tell, people Like Allie just don't seem to get hurt that much. Aside from the withering arm thing, that is."

Blasts of concentrated energy smack into Ixion, Thera, and James.

Ixion is blasted down, and Richard screams in audible pain.

A floating, skeletal man in a robe, with....revolvers sporting chains and nine-foot long barrels appeared in front of them.

James grits his teeth in pain, mumbling under his breath.

Nicole trips over something that wasn't there either of the last two times.
"Gaah! T'hell?!"

A sickle-shaped horn. It goes from red to orange to yellow. Allie picks it up.
"This is Alcron's."

Nicole climbs up to her feet.
"The species is full of psychos, Lucas. Airlord Aanemkr? He caused a tornado that devastated his city. This is a North Indeurlii'aed settlement, so this one's underground."

Thera takes the hit and growls, being somewhat damaged, but it's certainly neither down nor out. It immediately deploys its cannons and shoots bombs at the skeleton. Kaboom!

Maria groans in pain, but immediately goes to healing Richard.

She thinks she hears ocean waves again...

The skeletal figure doesn't even seem to be HURT by the cannon barrage, and it resumes blasting pure energy at the group.

Ixion attempts to zap it, to no avail. It resisted both Thera's barrage and Ixion's lightning.

"C-crap."

((By the way, this guy's the Reaper. An Bonus Boss at level 90. Who resists everything.))

Allie finds a tarnished metal door on the wall.
"Not good, but what's in here? It seems to be locked. Hold on."

Allie smashes the door with her axe, but it proves resistant.

Thera switches to solid shot, though the damage is starting to get to it.

Maria keeps healing people, despite the pain she feels.
