"That could be a problem." James walks to the edge of the shadow and tentatively jabs his saber into it.

[Twi]

Marie tries to get in James's way. Why, I have no idea.
"BAD IDEA. Seriously, don't even come CLOSE to this stuff if you can help it."

[SomeStupidGuy]

"It's done moving for the moment. Worst thing that can happen, I'm out a sword. And I assure you, I'll be careful."
He steps around Marie and carefully pokes the saber's tip into the shadows.

[Twi]

"Close proximity seems harmful as well, not just contact."

Marie shakes her head with dismay.

"Now, how the hell am I going to deal with this?"

[SomeStupidGuy]

James turns his head back to Marie, still in the process of stabbing the shadow. "Honestly, do you think I haven't messed around with possibly highly deadly materials before?
...Hmm, what were those things you called in earlier?"

James begins to feel a drain on his will and existence.

[SomeStupidGuy]

James quickly jerks his arm back.
"...Yeah, that's pretty unpleasant."

[Twi]

Marie  pulls James back, or at least tries to. Honestly, it would be infinitely easier for him to run THROUGH her.

"As for those... Long story short, Phyliss has this impressive army of ghosts, most of them angry, that she keeps around. Likes calling them 'the lost and the damned'. She lent a few to me on a trial basis. Unfortunately, thanks to this stupid shadow, I can't actually find the damn crows...

Sheesh. I swear, my party is overpowered and underthreatened, compared to you people."

[SomeStupidGuy]

James walks a safe distance away from the shadow, albeit more wearily than before.
"Seems that way, doesn't it."

[IamanElfCollaborator]

"Well crap."

Richard keeps away from the shadow wall.

"What do we do?"

[Twi]

"Weeeeeell, I could go to the Temple of Phyllis to bargain for a sword of light to cleave the darkness."

Marie cracks a tiny smile.

[SomeStupidGuy]

"That sounds... kinda awesome. Literally, like the original definition of the word."

[Twi]

"...I didn't mean that literally. I doubt many swords of lights come back to haunt the world beyond the 'grave', anyways."

Maria, meanwhile, begins looking at something: specifically, she looks for how the shadow affects any trees on/near the border. Things like branches sticking out of the darkness, for instance, would be quite relevant. Of course, she keeps a safe distance from her subject manner for obvious reasons.

[SomeStupidGuy]

"Yeah, I'd thought you weren't actually being too serious with that. It'd still be fun though."
He decides to try electricity on the shadow, for the hell of it.
