James is immediately turned to the creature's control, which it uses to attempt to command James to fire on everyone.

Maria escapes any effects, and her slashes continue.

Richard is struck, but Galahad glows, dispelling the effect.

James struggles to resist but fails, he slashes at the nearest person with his sabre. Fortunately, that person happens to be Maria.

Maria doesn't care about wimpy little saber slashes, and responds by kicking James away.

Then back to MURDERING THE MASK WOMAN DEAD.

Camille, having dodged, just keeps shooting. Wheee~

Galahad keeps whaling at the creature.

The charm wears off on James, as the Shadow decides that an incapacitated person is useless to it.

James painfully rises and stumbles away to a safe range, deciding to go back to using the rifle

Maria also...well, you get the idea by now. Slash stab smash.

Kwykathen glances at the battle before rushing in and attempting to tackle the masked woman, bellowing in rage.

The woman responds by shooting a green blast at everyone.

This time James makes sure to get the hell out of the burst's way.

[Vorthon]

Kwyk is unable to avoid the blast due to two little things called inertia and momentum.

Maria tries a bit harder to avoid it this time. ((I still have no idea if the Shadow woman thing gets penalties for firing point blank. Help. ))

Camille, as usual, dashes out of the way and shoots the woman some more.

Kwyk is immediately overcome with intense fear, as is Maria, as the blast gets her by dint of her being at point blank.

It completely misses Richard, who batters at it with Galahad.

Kwyk stops in her tracks, her mind trying to process the fear. She's never been this afraid in her life, and it's a little overwhelming.

Maria starts to step back a bit.

She tries to resist, but:

"Warning. Mind-altering radiation detected. Eliminating source."

...does it for her.

And back to trying to murder the shadow dead after that brief interruption. This time more robotic!

((Admit it: Being able to turn off your emotions if they got out of hand WOULD be pretty interesting.

Doing it automatically might not be fun though.))
